Question Channel Icons

Hi all

Just wondering where the Channel Icon info is stored for TVe3?

THe XMLTV provider here in NZ has had some dramas with web sources so is creating a new Beta version of his XMLTVNZ. In this version he has dropped the icon source for channels (risk of copyright etc when hosted on a webserver etc etc)

Ive tried manually editing the XML file with, for eg:
Quote:
<channel id="tv1">
<display-name>TV1</display-name>
<icon src="http://www.domain.co.nz/images/channels/tvone.gif" />
</channel>
But when I view the TVGuide in the client there is no image except the default. The channel table in SQL Server doesnt appear to store the ICON info.

a) Is the format above correct?
b) For TVe3 is there the ability to edit the channel info or set the images when the channel info is collected via XMLTV?

Afaik tv logos are stored in MediaPortal (\Thumbs\TV\Logos) and not in a central place like the TV-Server. I could be wrong, though.

The logo files need to have the same name as the channels listed in TV-Server config.

Yup, you are correct. Placed the files into the Client folder and they all displayed.

Not a huge problems, but does seem the reverse of a client/server setup where if you do a recording, its stored on the server, the XMLTV files are on the server, the Channel configs are on the server, but the images for the icons are on each seperate client machine.

You are - ofc - right You could post an improvement suggestion containing the information you found out about the XMLTV logo transmitting.

Should be compatible to other systems that don't supply logos (DVB EPG) aswell, though.

Kind Regards,
Muldini

1. I guess this still hangs on from the fact that MP wasn't always sever/client and I guess things like this will eventually be carried in to the sql database along with the movie database etc. But for now there are high proirity things for the devs to work on.

2. There is a way round this. share your mediaportal then take a copy of medaiportaldirs.xml and pace it in my docs on the client and modify it. as described here:
http://forum.team-mediaportal.com/mo...PortalDirs.xml

3. You've probably already got them but I've atached some NZ logos :-)

I had to put them in Documents and Settings\All users\Application Data\Team MediaPortal\thumbs\tv\logos

As a general rule, you don't have to create folders, they are created by installers.

Everything can be found on "%ALLUSERSPROFILE%\Team MediaPortal" for all operating systems.
