Question Client process killed - detection timeout?

When I kill MP on a remote client, and this MP was the one controlling the TV-Stream, how long does it take before the server finds out that the remote MP is gone and frees up the stream? I've waited for a few minutes and starting MP on the server machine still shows the stream opened by the long gone client.
