Curiosity: Has Mediaportal limit of number channels?

With my 2 satelite (Astra and Hotbird) I can get near of 3000 Tv and radio channels total.
Can this damage the perfomance of MP?
Anybody with a lot of channels without problems?

I´m not going to keep all channels. but I would to know the limit

One Hell of a EPG to scroll through.

The Limit would be your patience, whilst the database loads.

AFAIK no limit has ever been talked about.

Just grab a decent comp with much cpu power & lots of ram & tell us how many you could add & the speed

Damn, I only have 20 (22 if i count with all shit, not watchable), so not near to test that here

it was a curiosity only
but I normally get over 1000 Tv/500 radio channels and MP works fine
may be separate by Groups can this improve the perfomance?

Mp does not have a limit, and when you use groups
3000 channels should be usable.
btw, i've improved the performance of the tvplugin today regarding the tvguide
so... you are my perfect tester from this moment!

Right now I´m downloading last version and I´ll begin from clean installation including sql programs
in one hour I can tell you this adventure

Well my mother called me by phone

program used: Tvxb record file Tvguide.xml

1st test - 30 channels TDT (DVB-T) Just installed, the first time delayed 10 seconds aprox. sequents immediately.

is this good?

Now I am proving with aprox. 1100 tv channels (TDT,Astra and Hotbird)

Finally I´m going to prove with 2500 channels tv

I would say that 5 seconds for 2300 channels is more than acceptable
