Default Disable timeshifting when watching a channel

Hi,

I noticed that TV-server ALWAYS does timeshift no matter what settings I made on the client. Is there any way to disable this timeshifting?
Or is it necessary to have timeshifting enabled on the server and write the data to HD in order to be able to do the streaming to the client(s)?
This is not a big issue, but Iam just curious.

The TVServer has to timeshift because it is independent from the client.

Ok, and why has the server to do timeshifting?
Can I disable this?
I havent found any configuration-option on the server to configure time-shifting on the server. The client-configuration for the timeshifting was the only one I found.

You cannot disable it when using the new TV server.

New architecture, new way of doing things. (e.g. transport via rtsp, so not possible to connect the capture card to the same graph as the client's display graph... server <--> client)

Thank you very much for the information, mPod. What you wrote was what I guessed: no c/s-streaming without writing the stream to HD first.

I suppose this means as well, that it does not make sense to use the MP-(client-)option to manually or automatically start timshifting for TV-server users as the stream always comes from the server and is always available there, right?

Bye,
