Diseqc Support

In the support forums I see there is a lot of problems being reported with Diseqc switching of DVB-S sources, but little response as to if it is something being worked on, or even supported.

Is this something confirmed to be broken, and being worked on, or is it working but only with certain cards. If only certain cards, which ones.

This is something I'm wondering also..
Currently using a DiseqC-switch with my STB-box (i.e 1 tuner on STB -> Switch -> 2LNB's), and thinking about getting myself a HTPC w Media Portal.

I´m also waiting for news about Diseqc problem
I think than MP only scan LNB1 when we want watch SAT TV
No problem with other programs like ProgDVB

- what are the diseqc problems (LNB selection, motor control,... ?)
- for wich tvcard the diseqc is not working ?
- is diseqc working ok when using the classic MP tv engine ?

LNB selection is not working... when doing the channel scans for additional LNB's it just keeps rescanning whatever LNB it was already tuned to.

This is with a Twinhan 102g, and I am not sure if it worked in the older MediaPortal, I will have to get around to testing that, and get back to you.

Is this related to Motor control (DiseqC v 1.3) or also to when using only a simple DiseqC switch (v1.0)?
Probably would be good to define the number of LNB's you are using when posting about the problem.

I use MediaPortal software 1 year half ago, and TV Sat 6 months ago and never I´ve get than MP switch between LNB´s

I can read in "Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ)" the follow:

How many LNBs can i use with MediaPortal?Generally speaking MediaPortal can adress 4 LNBs.

But at the moment switching between LNBs is only supported with Skystar2, firedtv/floppydtv and Technotrend TV-Cards.

Then... I have a Skystar2 and only switch one LNB at time (one satellie at time)

We have a community parabolic monoblock with LNB4 and multiswitch x 8

In autotune my config is :

LNB1 A/A Astra
LNB2 B/B Hotbird

I can setup LNB3 and LNB4 for the others 2 Astra satellites
Sometimes found channels sometimes no found
With this configuration I watch only Hotbird Channels, if I change the autotune configuration with:

LNB1 B/BHotbird
LNB2 A/A Astra

I only watch the Astra channels
it is interesting, isn´t it?

Maybe today is fixed, but I don´t know How can I do
Please tell me if this is normal actually or I don´t know do it

Next public svn build will have some diseqc fixes.
As far as i can see correct diseqc messages for switching LNB's are send.

Can you get the next public svn and check it.
If it doesnt work please do this:
1. start service
2. start scanning on multiple lnb's
3. post the tv.log here (as attachmet)
