Country: | Try using the Mediaportal config instead of the wizard Go to Television\TVCard section and try to ADD, see if it comes up there. AFAIK, not one of the team members have this card, so trying to configure one is a bit hit and miss.

Country: | The HVR-4000 is a hybrid card which means only one tuner can be used at a time. Have you tried TVE3? This enables you to create the hybrid card correctly and stops MP trying to use 2 cards at the same time. |

Country: | Nemulate How are you getting on with this card, is it worth the money, considering it is technically only one card, just capable of accepting different transmission formats. You may become our expert on this one. Cheers

Country: | It's not a bad card really, just a bit frustarating that only one tuner can be used at a time! Channel change works pretty well though, it can switch between dvb-t to dvb-s fairly quickly when changing channels between different tuners. If you need me to do any specific testing just let me know! |

Just a bummer they do not advertise the fact it will only do one thing at a time, so really a pair of these would be ideal, as long as no driver clash existed. Quote:

Country: | Hi I have run a pair of HVR-4000s on single seat TVE3 since April 2006. They are detected fine by TVE3. I originally used them for DVB-S (they could pick up BBC HD) and since I moved house in October I have used them for DVB-T. I aim to use them for both DVB-S and DVB-T once I get my satellite dish sorted out (as DVB-T is required for FTA Channel 4, More 4, E4, Five, Five US, Five Life). The only potential issue is that in TVE3 the DVB-T part is listed as cards 1 & 2 (with the same description), the DVB-S parts are listed as cards 3 & 4 (with the same description) and the analogue parts are listed as cards 5 & 6 (with the same description). I guess I would have to assume that I would need to join card 1, 3 and 5 and 2, 4 and 6 to make two hybrid cards but I am not sure that this would be the case. The combination may (or may not) be different. Mew |

Country: | Hi Mew, I know you haven't used them as hybrid cards yet ie dvb-s and dvb-t but I don't see it being a problem. The creating hybrid cards option in TVE3 should sort them out ok. That's what I've done for my single card. When the new bbc freesat launches I'll probably get another one so I have sky fta and freesat. Let us know how you get on if you get your sat before then. Cheers |
