Default Hauppauge HVR 2200 + 1.0RC2

Hi all,

I'm thinking of buying a Hauppauge HVR 2200. Now, what do I have to do to get it to work on XP? Are there drivers to download from Hauppauge? Could I get a few opinions of this card?

Oh, and I would assume I'd have to apply the BDA fix to my system as it's been newly blatted with SP3.

Cheers,
andrew

HVR-2200 is a great card at a great price too. The analog side is has a hardware based MPEG2 encoder which is a must if you want analog. You really can't beat this card.

Just got my HVR 2200 last night.

Had it installed and running with MP RC2 in 10 minutes. Works great no more stutters, and occasional sounds issues that I've been having with my DVICO cards.

In the past 2 months, I've had one of my DVICO dual digital cards turn my machine into a mash of slow responses and constant stuttering. (Card now disposed off) and the other DVICO dual digital 4 crash my system on a regular basis - with many annoying occasional picture stutters and sound issues.

Seems the additional cost for the HVR 2200 is worth it thus far. From last nights testing with multiple clients, my MP is working better than ever. Its amazing what a quality card will do, going cheap may only cause more problems.

Your wife/girlfriend may not know it now - but trust me spend the extra, get a good card, save yourself the headache's and the fights.

I grabbed one and installed it last night. I am getting stuttering playback, but I assume that's either due to the dvbfix needing to be reapplied (since the XP SP3 install) or that I'm not using the latest and greatest SVN.

Strangely, the device drivers I downloaded from hauppauge.co.uk don't work with my card, but the ones on the supplied CD do.

Cheers,
andrew

Hello Andrew,

NewMagic Website

This has the latest Vista Drivers - there is a note about not using the drivers with XP SP3 as their are currently known issues...
