Default Hauppauge WinTV CI Module support?

Hi,

Some 7 months ago there have been some efforts made to get the Hauppauge WinTV Ci Module supported in the TV-Server (primarily by Dman_lfc), but nowhere I can find the current status of its support in TvServer.

Does anyone know if this CI-Module is nowadays supported?
I know Hauppauge is doing some efforts to get it working in Win MCE, so I am eager to know what to expect in the current version of MediaPortal.

Yes it works with TVServer.

Conditions:

1. It only works with 1x DVB card (Stipulated by Hauppauge and by device design)
2. It's to be paired only with Hauppauge cards. (Tested compatibility with others DVB causes issues or does not work)

I'm adding some configuration options and fixing a couple of bugs which will be available soon to make it clearer for users to use the device accordingly.

Wow, this is good news!

I assume we'd have to get the latest RC2 SVN version for this support.
I will make sure I test this asap!

Thx for letting us know!!

Tested the latest SVN (09-06) and installs okay, detects channels okay, rebooted after every installation step, but when trying in the manual control to start a timeshift on a FTA channel (or encrypted for that matter), it throwns an error: "Unable to create/start graph".

When I peek in the TVserver.log I see it finds the card (Hauppauge Nova-T USB2) and the WinTV CI Module, it detects the CAM is inserted, so that seems to be okay.

Where should I look, what can I do?

PS. Can't see a possibility to uplad the log file in this post

Current SVN is labeled
"MediaPortal SVN-Snapshot:-09-14-2008 15-54h - Revision:20227.rar "

Would this be okay as well or wait till next Friday's release?
Thx!

(never got the rationale behind SVN sequence numbering...)

I'm running with the 20-9-08 svn snapshot, and while my copy of MP recognises the WinTV CI module connected to my Nova-S2 internal card, it cannot descramble any channels.

For example I can decode RTE One using DVBViewer but Mediaportal reports that the channel is scrambled. I'm using a Trex Cam in the CI module with my fully paid for Sky card.

rlogue,
I got the same problem and posted it in this thread here

SVN 20227 did work, but it couldn't hold on to the settings somehow and after a reboot you would lose all configurations related to the CI module. Couldn't be solved eihter, only after a complete reinstall of the drivers and MP and TVServer (without reboots!).

Bottomline is: it can work apparently, but it's not flawless yet. I hope the next SVN (due any day now), will have solved these little hickups...
