Hi again,
the Break/Fwd and Rew dont work for me.
I have test yesterday and this morning with the newest Build.
When i try Rew for example, i heard the sound for 2 sec. and only one picture and the its stop. Now when i go forward its the same. I must turn LiveTV off and an, then i can watch again.

The wrong aspect ratios problem is dont fix for me.
Only Cyberlink and DScale works.

Since todays Build the HD Channels (MPEG4) dont work good more.
They stuttering when watching.
The build from yesterday was good.

Thank you

Finally it's possible to watch tv the normal way on mediaportal. Thanks for all the hard work!

But is it somehow possible to get that little extra speed out of it? Zapping works perfectly but in my opinion it's just not fast enough. It could also be my Technotrend card, if it is so, please tell, I'll buy another one.

So Frodo, do you think you can get some extra speed out of it?

Greetz,

@Joboehl:

On channel change it takes about 3 seconds before the next image is playing.
I goes like this:
- Zap
- Green round circle wichs informs you that a channel change takes place
- Current image freeze (also the green circle)
- New image (channel) freeze
- New image is playing

Most of the time this is happening within 3 seconds. I tried to store my timeshift buffer files on a Ramdisk (wich is enormous fast) but no good result on that. Speed is almost the same. It's an dual core so cpu capacity shouldnt be the problem. Als my Technotrend card is zapping really fast on TT-Mediacenter (technotrends own tv program).

I know DVB is a lot more different that analogue tv, so zapping times like that are not possible. But my samsung DCB360R can zap even faster (wich is a terrible slow STB) that a Dual Core powered media center.

Stability isn't really the problem, sometimes i get a PMT not found error.

If it's not possible getting more speed out of it, I have to live with that

Greetz,

How much does this new TsReader filter actually have to do with zapping speed?

I mean TsReader is used by MediaPortal to read the ts produced by TvServer, correct?

I'm sure most of time it takes to zap channels is within TvServer; picking the card, tuning, getting a lock on the signal, pmt, building graphs etc etc etc, Am I wrong?

@dekkers: I think if you examine your TV.log for TvServer you should be able to see the whole process that is done when you tune a channel since the log file has times you should be able to see what is taking the longest.

Someone correct me if I'm mis-understanding something :-)

I guess the channel has to be buffered a short time before the actual picture is shown. Optimizing that could decrease zapping time. I also believe the TSreader is used for a bit more then just reading the timeshift file.

Tried the last MP+TVserver build, rev 15382 today with the new tsreader.

The preselected audio language no longer works, changing it manually works.

After a few days (or better evenings) of testing, I can say that this filter is really near to perfect. I still miss the audio from time to time after changing a channel (changing the channel again fixes this issue) and really rarely it hangs completely. Unfortunately this happens during a normal TV evening and so I was not able to spend the time to same the log files.

I will test I further and hope I will be able to catch a log in the right moment.

Bye
Lars
