very unfortunate, because picture quality of MPV is quite bad. hopefully this can be fixed.

According to Frodo the switching between mpeg4 and mpeg2 are failing with ffdshow. So it seems more like a codec issue.

I recognized that scenes with only a few movements are shown without any stuttering. But when there are a lot of changes and movements there is a lot of stuttering. Maybe this is related to the higher data rate for scenes with a lot of changes?

I tried PowerDVD and WinDVD codecs. They both behave the same way. CoreAVC shows no stuttering but the picture is zoomed extremely and I can only see the top left corner (10%) of the picture.
Today I replaced my ATI X1650 with a NVidia 8600GT. When using the WinDVD H.264 codec I have a completely perfect HDTV picture without any stuttering.

Now everything works perfect with the new filter and the TV Engine 0.3.

Added: When I turn on hardware acceleration, then picture gets stuttering again. This is the case only for Media Portal. When I use PowerDVD to playback a previously recorded h.264 TS file the picture is okay even with HW acceleration turned on.

Added 2: Turned back to my ATI card, because the SD picture wth the NVidia card was very bad. Suprisingly HDTV now also works with the ATI card witout stuttering most of the time. Sometimes, after some channel switching between HDTV channels, the stuttering comes back. In this case restarting Mediaportal helps.

Hi, I have a slightly off track issue.

I had some PC problems and my database got corrupt. As a result, all my recorded programs are not visible in "recorded TV".
No problem, when this happens, we just use "My Movies" and watch the programs that way.
This time, none of the shows work. They are badly corrupt and usually freeze.
Is it possible that MyVideos can't play TS files that were recorded wioth the new TS filter?
I haven't tested different codecs or anything, just want to first know if I am on the right track with this assupmtion.

For example, the upstairs PC is the TV server. The database was lost and recreated.
If I use the downstairs PC to watch the recorded shows via a shared drive does the downstairs PC know to use the tsreader format to replay the .TS files?

Hi, it's quite off topic, but I have the same problem and same solution but with SD tv. I'm not using this filter but just the clean MP 0.2.3.0 RC1 install

I have big issues doing FF and REW on the the timehift, is this issue common and is it just for tsfilter?? anyone know?

The problem is that for everytime I skip or ff or rew MP hangs for about 1 minute before resuming.

If this is just me or if I missed some tip where it is solved I hope for some pointers

i got similar troubles with hd channels: coreavc gives me only the upper left corner zoomed in, ffdshow doesn´t work either.

now i just installed windvd 8 platinum but i can´t find its h264 decoder? in mp tv settings it still only shows ffdshow raw filter, ffdshow decoder and coreavc as h264 video decoders.

am i missing something here?

other than that the new tsreader works well, only troubles i had so far is that sometimes when i change channels, there is no audio for 3-6seconds.

I have the same problem that I have reported earlier in this thread.. But it seems that no one has had the time looking in to it - or perhaps we are the only ones?

I reported it here http://forum.team-mediaportal.com/sh...&postcount=234

While I haven't tried the tsfilter yet, I saw this behaviour with tsfilesource and dscaler as the codec.

FYI - the broken FF/REW behaviour appears to be fixed in latest SVN+TVE3 (15517). Installed last night and ff/rew work really well, no errors, instant response, quick movement through the timeline. Good work guys. It also appears that the latest SVN/TVE3 have the best/smoothest channel change speeds so far.

My only question is - how do I know if the new TsReader is being used? I have the c:\useTsReader.txt file, but no logs get created anymore in c:\. I think the new reader is active, but how can I be 100% sure?
