okay, after a few days of using tsfilter i can say it is running nearly perfect. the stuttering issue is a thing of the skin i have used. i use now bluetwo wide and the stutterung is gone...
but there are some (small) issues with the new filter.
- sometimes there are strange pixels in the picture that disapear after about one second
- sometimes a channel switch goes to the start of the timeshift buffer
- sometimes the pictures slows down for a second and speeds up the to normal speed, including audio
these are the only issues i can discover with the new filter
good work guys.

I can confirm the first two issues here...

In general current TsReader works just fine but sometimes I get PMT errors, see the logs attached.

What happens is that when trying to change a channel, channel change fails and leaves me waiting, without any notice of tuning failed or anything like that. This happens on the logs at 13:18:39 where there is no response to PMT call. I have timeout for 5 secs (it doesn't help if timeout is 10 or 20 as it responds within a sec if it responds at all). After that I turn TV off from menu and start again and then it works again.

It has been like this since I remember. I'm reporting this now as it seems like most of other problems are already solved. Logs are from latest SVNs (16362). I'm using DVB-C Technotrend C-1500.

Couldn't there be a mechanism on MP Client that it would try channel tune again if it fails once or twice and after third attempt display some notice why it did fail?

here is a new status report for the new filter on my mp after installing yesterdays svn:
- the strange pixels are gone ;-)
- the slowdowns are gone :-)

what is left:
- sometimes channel switch goes to beginning of timeshift
- sometimes i get only a black screen on channel switch and have to quit fullscreen, then the channel switch works, and i can go back to fullscreen

very good work guys! think this christmas the mp team will receive a big paypal donation from me.

I can confirm this problem... happens rarely... But I'm not able to use mediaportal anymore when it happens, I have to kill it...

I will try to get logs as soon as it happens again and I have no wife at tv

Oh and after PMT fails, changing channel doesn't work anymore. Only TV on/off reset helps.

same here. the last days watching tv with mp is like going through hell:

- channel switches go to beginning of timeshift
- crashes on channel switch
- only audio and the last picture of the previuos channel after channel switch

mp is a very good media center, but at the moment it is nearly unusable if you run tve3...

Problems with some channel tune failures could be on the HW side. If you use STB they also fail to tune sometimes but after channel change they work again. Like I said before (without really knowing how all this stuff works) IMHO there should be some reset mechanism on tswriter which would try resetting tuning stuff and then tune again if tuning first fails (unless it fails because of scrambled channel). I suppose there is already some code that do this kinds of stuff but not on my case when PMT calls fail.

For example you can tell by the logs that PMT call has failed and timeout can be seen by filter. There could be tv on/off reset like mechanism on tswriter which would only skip generating new timeshift buffers. After reset it would try appending current timeshifting file. I have no clue how difficult this would be to implement but an idea at least.

In general TVE3 is totally usable for me, there are only minor annoyances on my system.

u are a very positive thinking guy if u find it "usable"...
at the moment nearly EVERY channel switch hangs, or hits another channel, or goes to timeshift start or such things.
i´m not a programmer, but i know how hard coding is. but the channel switching in mp is not getting better. even with the new filter the last days...
