Sorry, I have to say that I have completely forgotten that one (lot of other TsWriter & TsReader issues have been fixed...).

What was the file and issue? I'll try to have some free time to look at it.

Just a quick question about the new filter. When changing channels is it normal that I sometimes get a pitch noise and the image kinda stutters and blocks are visible. I just updated to one of the latest SVN's and it is a lot better than a month or so ago, but it still happens, sometimes more visible then other channel changes.

Now for my question, is this normal? Can this be fixed or is this not possible to completely eliminate?

BTW, I am using PowerDVD 7.3 Ultra codec for SD TV

My System

Default Seeking on multiseat

Hi,

I have just installed SVN 16531 (mediaportal + TV server) on server and client PCs, and I'm afraid to say that there seems to be no improvement to seeking on multiseat. It works fine on the server itself.

I tried with an older recording as well as a new one. I am recording .ts files using a hauppauge DVB card, in case this is likely to matter. I am using the MPV decoder filter.

Is there anything you can recommend I try? Do some filters work better than others?

Thanks for your efforts in fixing this (and all other aspects). It really is appreciated.

Best wishes,

Mark

elliottmc

please describe your problem in more detail.
you problem is only multiseat related so far, right ?

I had big issues before but these were fixed recently.

My problems were that tsreader could very easily end up in a deadlock state when seeking 2 or 3 times in a recorded TS file. If I use myvideos (file mode) then no problem, but with myRecordings in tvplugin the recording is viewed in RTSP mode. And here the problem with deadlocks could very easily occur, resulting in a non-responsive MP (end task).
There were no problems seeking in live TV at all. So no changes here.

Also while I was fixing that seeking bug I found something missing in the code that made seeking in live TV and TV recordings in multiseat very slow. Before when I seeked, it took about 4 secs. before picture recovered.
Now it's 0,5-1 sec.

You could try other filters.
Also make sure that u r indeed running latest SVN of tsreader...regsvr32 it. unregister and remove older versions on HD.
Try other video and audio codecs.
I use powerDVD6 for video, and ffdaudio for audio

Hi,

Basically, when I try to seek through a recorded TV program, the seeking is slow. If I am seeking at 2x speed, the counter is updating at more like 1x speed. The picture on screen does not get updated at all. Seeking at 4x speed seems more like 2x, and again the screen does not get updated.

Pressing play does show that the seeking has been successful, but without the live preview it is difficult to get to the end of adverts, etc.

I have tried MPV and DScaler as video decoders. I don't have powerdvd6 to test. I might have an older version.

Whenever I updated, I uninstall, delete the whole Program Files/Team MediaPortal directory and reinstall the program followed by SVN, so I am certain I am using the latest version of TSReader. Or is is possible that once a version is registered, a copy is stored somewhere????

Would log files be of any use? I'm more than happy to post them.

Thanks,

Mark

Hi,

Just a quick follow-up. I unregistered TsReader.ax and re-registered it to be absolutely certain. Still the same result.

Also, when seeking live TV, the screen does not get updated.

gibman, would you be able to test with MPV, so that we can see if the problem is dependent of the filters used?

I have no problem seeking through files using My Videos, just in recorded TV, so RTSP mode. I've never seen the system lock or crash, just not update the screen and not seek at the correct speed.

Best wishes,

Mark

@ tourettes,

oh O.K. no problem. You find the sample file on the ftp server
in the folder "MPEG-2 file doesn't play ..." and afterwards the
post belonging to the upload ...

post #385 and #387 describe my issue ...

If you need any information about my issue please ask for them.

in attachment there are two jpeg showing the graph with these files
before using VideoReDoPlus and showing the videoinfo from tsreader
from the graph ...

Everything points to a problem that tsreader can't identify the streams
within the tsfile. A littlebit strange is that with this file MP takes the
Elecard Audio decoder and with the same file after VideoReDoPlus it
uses the AC3Filter. Could this be related to the point that the file
originally has 2 audiotracks and VideoReDoPlus can only handle one,
so the file afterwards consists of only one audiotrack ?

Thanks so much for looking after it ...

elliottmc, I can confirm this problem as well.

The fix I did was only relevant for the skip steps +5sec +30sec ..try those

Hi gibman,

It's great that you can see the same problem.

For as long as I can remember, the skip step buttons don't actually do anything at all. There's no sound from mediaportal to indicate that it recognises that I have pressed the button.

I was wondering if it was a problem with my remote configuration (MCE remote).

I'll try it again, and report back.

Best wishes,

Mark
