Default Hows the performance?

Hi,

just installed tve3 on dedicated server and it seems to be working (almost)great.

My setup is a dedicated server:
2.0 Ghz Xeon with 1 Gb ram, and sata raid disks
The tuner is SS2 2.6 with 4.4.0 WDM drivers. Connected to a dish with 4 LNB's.

I have noticed wery high cpu usage when the server is timeshifting.

On my server the cpu runs at 70-95%, when i change channels it bumps ut to 100% for a few secs. This causes some stuttering after channel change.
Only a single client is connected.

Hows your performance on TVE3?

i think you may have these issues cause it sounds like the card may be a analog card? and not a digital one?

I use a single-seat setup (server and client on same system) and the cpu (amd64 3200+ singlecore) runs at aprox. 15% (with mpeg-decoding!). This means that the server does not produce a high cpu usage.

Nope should not be that high, try changing the recording format from mpeg to TS, and see if any difference.

Also just a thought, are there any HD channels being received.

Regards

Default

thanks for the feedback

There is might be something wrong with my setup...

There are just standard FTA channels. No HDTV and the card is a digital card.

I tried that now. CPU is still high, maybe i bit lower.

I dont think it is the hardware either. I previously used it as a MythTV backendserver. There it had a CPU usage of 10-15%

btw i am using rev 13942
