Default MPEG recordings don't playback

I just started running Tvserver again (I installed the latest SVN yesterday with the latest MP and SVN).

Everything seems to be running very smoothly except that TvServer MPEG recordings do not play back within MP (they can be played back using Windows Media Player though)... My old MP recordings (which were "microsoft recorded TV show" files) always played back in MP without a problem.

On the plus side, TS. recordings do playback in MP so it's not a massive problem.

I just wondered why MPEG recordings don't work (i'd rather use MPEG because it's more transferable).

It's a known bug and is being worked on as we speak. (not by me, but by skilled developers!)

Stay tuned,

Ok, thanks, guess I'll stick to ts. files for now.

On that subject, can anyone recommend decent file conversion software to convert from ts. to a more universally accepted format?

It's still open in Mantis.

This means it hasn't been fixed.

You can check it's progress by clicking the link I supplied above.

Cheers,

I appear to be having the same problem with an analogue card with the latest svn 2007-10-27 (upgraded today for tv server, plugin and client)

Unusually, going to the bug in mantis http://mantis.team-mediaportal.com/view.php?id=1099 appears to be
closed (or fixed?) with no explaination even though it is clear this is still a problem.

It (obviously) cannot be moved to .ts like the other cards for which it resolved the issue. However, It appears that anywhere from a few minutes up to several hours causes the picture to be frozen.

The tv server appears to be happily serving to the MP client but the client either crashes or allows some input but ultimately requires a forced closure of the app. Upon re-opening MP everything is fine.

I'll try and provide some debug output
