No picture on remote client pc

Hi,

right now im struggeling with setting up tv server, i have:

server pc: set up with svn 18215 (both mp and tv3) - the server is working alright, got it running,

client pc: same svn (mp + tv3 client) i can get channels guide but no image. also when i switch to a channel on client pc i can see in the server pc's tv server console under 'manual control' that my user is timeshifting (i test by changing channels and see the changes right away) but no picture on my client pc, also there is nothing in the streaming server list

Could you have a look at thismanual http://forum.team-mediaportal.com/ge...rplugin-37186/. the part about the hotfixes ?
otherwise you could have the problems you described..
Did you install codecs ? or configured the default ones ? (mpa/mpv) ?

Have you got 120dpi set in windows, as this is the common cause of no video.

limpwhizkid: i followed the guide and have all the codecs showing in MP and went through them trying by random th ons i now they work, but nothing (when i press the TV On button, stays black)

PD: what is the 120dpi?

Check if TSReader.ax is properly registered/installed.
There have been a few problems with this lately.
You might want to try a TVclient of February to see if all works fine with that version.

In the server pc, shouldn't ny client pc show in the streaming server / streaming clients list ?

Is the client connecting to the server? do you have a firewall configured on any of the PC's, if so try to dissable the firewall(s). If it works with firewall dissabled than you have to open some TCp/UDP ports in your firewall.

I stream my TVServer to 4 clients at home without a problem, 3 running XP SP2 and the 4th running Vista Home.

i turned all the firewalls off and still nothing, and i even tried ProgDVB on the Server PC runing as streaming server, and another copy on my client and it worked.

i guess i have to try another svn, like you said, maybe something older. is there any particular one you recommend. Im using SS2 DVB-s card on my server, and all works fine on the server pc itself (MP works fine with myTV)

Look for a version around the 18th of January.

Does the client see the channels in the tvguide or channel selector, with other words does the client connect to the database?

Yes, i can see everything on the client, channels, epg, streams, recordings, i can even start a recording, but not playit back. Im actually using the express manager from the client

did not install it on the server (the client is my work laptop - i work in s/w development mainly desktop applications)

i will check the version you mentioned and let you know. thanks
