i know u can check the address when watching tv, but u cant check it this way, try to see if there is something in the logs.

check the the time-shifting folder on the tv server pc, i beleive the numbers are the same as the folders being created there

megaycrypto, thanks for your help... First of all, it is definitely stream4.0, since I am able to connect now and display video!!! So, after all, everything is fine. I simple had to work with the extended firewall settings in Vista on the server machine to allow MediaPortal and the MPTvClient to connect to that stream!
