Country: | That would be awesome - I guess I'm just concerned it might be a while before the developers have a chance to implement... (don't get me wrong they do great work - I'm just concerned they might be busy and therefore have to leave us control freaks to our own devices for a while!!!) |

Country: | Yeah I don't want to distract the devs from other stuff, and apparently, there aren't that many of us with the issue (judging by the # of posters in this thread). Also I think a post earlier said it wasn't just a "quick 'n easy" fix to support users changing the bitrate, so we may be stuck for awhile. I'm not sure it would be good either to post DLLs for just anybody to download, and then it might cause "who knows what else" as far as problems. Personally, I'll have to go back to the old TV engine for now, but I'm going to keep an eye on this thread and will try the TV server again once this is fixed.

Country: | I'll try to boot up my dev environment this weekend and do a DLL that supports changing the bitrate either via registry or txt file. then ppl can PM me for it? Unless Diehard or any of the other Devs think that's a really bad idea?

Country: | Hi mcraenz, If you want to add full support (screens, communication, etc) I'm not at all opposed, and I'll commit your changes. I just can't get a large enough block of time to work on this. I forgot about changing default audio rate. I'll put that on my regular todo list. |

Country: | hmmm, Yea I'm not sure my skilz are quite up to that? Would it mean adding more members to card.cs and more columns to the database card table to hold the new quality settings. Then adding controls to the "edit card" form in TVSetup and then of course editing TvCardAnalogBase.cs to read the settings. Is that the best way to do it? I also noticed that in the card table/definition there is no "CardType", i.e. DVB-T, analog, DVB-S etc. Wouldn't this be quite useful, e.g. we would show CAM limit options for CardType analog. Ok so now I'm taking up your time Diehard which kinda defeats the purpose! Sorry.

Country: | Hi McCraenz, To be honest, I'm not sure. I haven't been able to devote a large enough chunk of time to figuring out the details of the tv server's implementation. Take heart, I taught myself how to program 4 years ago, and I got pretty good at it. For everyone else, I've bumped up the audio (to max) and video quality (slightly). Please let me know if there are any problems. |

| Portal Member | I put my settings using GraphEdit to min. 8000 and max. 10000. The quality is a lot better now! I can't set it to 10000 and 12000 though then I get heavy stuttering... Can I change something to the code also to get even better quality? This topic is getter more and more important I think, if I see the change in quality just by changing these settings I am amazed of the power of good configuration. I think this needs to be researched to the bottom to get the best quality possible... |
