My System

Thumbs up

great.... hopefully an easy installation without too much requirements which have to be installed first.
i'd like to have a GUI-based setup-wizard to make it "noobproof" ....

sounds fantastic. keep up with the great work.

Default HTTP Interface ?

Hello

in times of network, nokia internet tablets, iphones/itouch, pda's
how would be a "REALLY !!!" working and good looking http interface ?

In my case for eg i have my htpc connected to the beamer.
But just for starting music, i don't want to start the beamer.
Also i don't want to go to the main room where an additional monitor is connected.
But otherwise i have always my pda with me. He has an active bluetooth internet connection.
I also use an tablet pc for some things.

So my idea would be a good grafical http interface (with ajax support for browsers that can work with it)
to have a kind of REAL ultimate remote control.

Because you talked about network streaming (like vlc i assume), ths could be the perfect solution.

Greetings by JarJar

Well the best would be if there would be an reinterpreter for the skinsystem that creates html code.
So then the only problem would be the integrated webserver.
Do you think that would be possible ? I do not know your ui system in MP2.
Especially in non ie browsers (most mobile browsers are based on webkit or opera)

What I like to have are the optional support of different workspaces for each user integrated into the kernel. That would allow me to seperate my music/movie/tv content from that of my wife ;-).
And then the option for each piece of content to share with other users.

I had also thought of that before. specially thinking of mytvseries.

i would be nice to have some sort of user select or some way so that different people can benefit from the great function of "watched" and "unwatched" of mytvseries.
if not, only one user can have track of what has been saw. the rest have to go to ALL and remember which one was teh las episode watched

for me it should do 4 things, and do those 4 things really well, in this order:
1. Allow me to customize exactly what I want to see on the main layout, If i only want movies / music...thats all i want to see!
2. An easy movie browser built it (also support launching hd-dvd/blu-ray) Easy to search/navigate (start searching as you start type type of thing).
3. Music playback of course, maybe support multiple playlists that you can select from etc.
4. TV Tuner functions etc, etc, etc.

and ofcourse let the movie/music db reside on the server and let all clients use that movie/music db

I used media portal a long time ago, right now im just on vista w/ vista MCE and mymovies, which runs good, but i hate not being to customize it to the way i want
