Country: | I have been thinking of an improvement that i think is missing in MP1. The posibility to search in a playlist just by pressing a letter on the remote or keyboard. That means im in some kind of playlist/filelist and when pressing a search start button, and then a letter on the remote, then it should start remove files not matching.. a little like T3 on your mobile phone, or when you will send a message to someone at this site. and not just matches in the start of name but also in the middle of the name. Fore example: twel result: geTWELl and a nice one would be percent matching if it doesn't find a 100% match. Then there will be space for missspelling. It not always you know how to spell an artists name correctly ![]() Is this possible to implement? |

| Portal User | Hello, sorry if this question was already asked. As the TV Engine, what would it be great is to have a independant Engine for Music, Video, TV, Radio (etc...) from the client. With this functionnality, it will be possible to have a core PC with the engine running and some other PCs as clients. Vulcain PS : sorry for my English, I hope it can be understand.

I don't know if you already have this setup going and have troubles with it or not so...give it a try....I have 3 clients setup, main htpc in lvg room, wife's comp, and this one. Wife's comp is actually tailored to what she watches via selective sharing and database building using MyMovies, and MyTVSeries, and the whole picture and music library is shared with all. She's happy, I'm happy, it just works. < Wow....it happened so slick I didn't even notice, I have gained the famed WAF approval!

| Portal Member | You will have to make sure LAN sharing is working first, so that when you go to pick movie folders in configuration, you can see the folders over the network already, then hit browse, and find your folders on the remote machine. Hopefully, if you select to just update one share at a time on database update, it should all work fine, just a little slower than a local folder is all. Keep in mind each client will have their own movie, music, tvseries, etc databases, so you must do this X how many MP clients you have. Once all done though, it should operate fairly seamless as long as you remember which shared media machines are booted! haha I think I've seen someone who managed to copy/paste the database to another client, but if it doesn't work, you've now made more work for yourself than just scanning a new db for each client seperately. No matter what, if the shared media size is the same...the database size on each client will be the same. So there's no real advantage to the copy paste method besides maybe time if your shares need defined to match IMDB entries. <"why is MP laggin' on start??......oh, turn on the HTPC shares dummy!" >haha, that's me til I got used to it.

Country: | That is a very good news! UPnp is a must have today. When can we download the first alpha release? I think you must take a look to Windows Media service 2008 http://www.microsoft.com/windows/win...dinfo2008.aspx And I think it's a good idea to have a version "Core" for and as the server part for Windows 2008 Server. |

| Portal Member | If I understand the announcement article correct, it will have to be redone on the new skinengine.
