Default Can't Browse Network File Shares

Why can't I access my videos stored on another computer with this release? I am only allowed to look at stuff on my local C & D (dvd/cd) drives. What is up? All my videos are stored on a central server.

The idea is that you map any network shares to drive-letters
When thats done you can work with them just as with local drives

Oh yuck. What a step backwards. Why would I want to go through all that crap? Especially when people are posting they can't get more than 5 folders or past the drive letter "I". Which, by the way, I can't either. I tried one mapping letter. The best letter I could get was "N" due to card reader drives, etc. Guess what? Can't select it in the setup. Time to hit the 'ol "uninstall" icon. Calling this version a "preview" is charitable.

Well, I did map a network drive as an "H" drive since your system can't handle a drive letter below "I" (That's a post in your forum, and it's right as near as I can tell) . Guess what? I can see the first 5 movie directories in it. Then it crashed. Again. Your software seems to be hung up with 5's as maxes for drives, directories, etc.

Personally I would start by trying to think ONCE because in fact you have not GIVEN me anything to play with, unless you count crashes (Vista or XP Pro), inabilities to do the simplest of media library setups, or 100% CPU utilizations as recreational computer activities. I don't.

Are you even sure what a technology preview stands for? I hope no one is forcing you to use it (or not even the MP 0.2.3.0).

i 100% understand your situation, probably you have someone pointing with a gun to your head forcing you to play around with a technology preview software and if you dont make it work he will shoot.

oh wait, thats not the situation? then what are u talking about Savage? take a break, you definately need it

People like 'savage1701' are the reason i will quit developing MP/MP-II some day...
And that day might be sooner then you all think

I'm serious, reading posts like this really makes me wonder for whom i'm doing it all for
and it does take away all the fun i'm having with MP/MP-II

At the moment my bucket is almost full, luckily i'm going on vacation for a week
lets hope i have the motivation to pickup MP/MP-II again when i come back
but somehow... i doubt it...
