| Hi, Please include a telnet-style control port for MP II from the beginning! This is essential for a really good setup that you can control over then net! Things it should include are: - Transport control (play, pause, stop etc etc) - GUI control (page jumps etc) - Library control (read/write the different libraries for music, video, tv etc) - Status feedback - Ability to start videofiles/music files etc that are/are not in the library Thanks a bunch, Jens |

Country: | Consider a scenario where you got 3 clients and 1 server, where each of the client have different streams from the server. Which machine do you want to telnet to? I mean do you want to telnet to each of the clients, so you can control each of them by remote? Remember if you mean over the internet, then each of the clients should eather have its own IP or each of them should have a unik port number (the 3 clients can't run this on the same port, if you only have one internet connection) |

Country: | This is actually a great feature. The program called M****TV (you know, the linux one) has this feature and has allowed for things like PDA and cell phones (even Nintendo DS) to act as a remote control for the CLIENT (no TVServer) part of Media Portal, through the Wireless lan (No WAN dude). Simple commands is enough like Code: Valid Commands: --------------- jump - Jump to a specified location in Myth key - Send a keypress to the program play - Playback related commands query - Queries exit - Exit Network Control Type 'help COMMANDNAME' for help on any specific command. # help jump Usage: jump JUMPPOINT Where JUMPPOINT is one of the following: channelpriorities - Channel Recording Priorities channelrecpriority - Channel Recording Priorities deletebox - TV Recording Deletion deleterecordings - TV Recording Deletion guidegrid - Program Guide livetv - Live TV livetvinguide - Live TV In Guide mainmenu - Main Menu ![]() |

Country: | Again, This is not about some generic, full-featured, multi-touch thing interface. Is the smallest of the plugins, but allows software currently made for WLAN already made software for diverse platforms, to actually be usable without having to write your own program to do that. I don't know how to program so I want to use those already available for M***T (spanning PocketPC, iPhone, Nokia N800, Nintendo DS, PSP, Nokia N80 and a lot of other handheld things). |

![]() There is nothing in the forumrules against this - and you are allowed to type the word Myth ... but we do off course prefer that the sections that are meant for MP1 and MP2 is used to discuss MP-related stuff. Going off-topic might lead to deletion of posts. Oh - and what competition? ![]()

Country: | Spragleknas: I know I know, lol. Well, this is a feature request. The plugin is so simple, that it could fit in MP 1 RCI without problems since the input commands interface is already there for other plugins. I will personally post videos of a Nokia N800 and a Nokia N80 controlling the Media Portal for all of you to gaze the simplest way to remotely control MP without buying IR Recievers and cranking glyphic config files for WinLirc (an outdated project anyway). |
