The approach I am thinking of for Media Portal to support touchscreens better is to expose the status info and controls to a network transport.
In this way we could use other software as remotes or touchscreens, this could be as simple as a web browser on the devise with a back end .net IIS server; or use other touch software like Promixis net remote or xlobby (althought that project is now commerial there is still the freeware version around that is the best touchscreen interface I have yet found). This xPL technoligy looks interesting XPL News - XPL it has already been integrate into MCE xPL Monkey - Home Automation - Windows Media Center |

Sweet.
I will post ove on teh xPL forum and let them know as well. Now it should be possible to have a standalone touchscreen interface, was thinking of something web based so could be used by lots of clients. Maybe do a IIS .net thing (as that is what I know) read DB's and draw screens, then have status and control. Can this plugin in que up media, ie via xPL media interface can I tell MP to play a certain file? |

Hi,
my resolution is 1280x720 (HD). I use nvidia clone screen, where first screen is TV. In MP configuration i don´t use the screen select option. I calibrate the touchscreen using the programm witch was bundled to my case. For me, no problem. I can all read and touch also. The only small problem is that if you got options where you can scroll, the mouse function of the touchscreen led sometimes the options endless scrolling. And i miss sometimes the volumebutton. Most of time i use the remote, display is only for viewing - so, a special screen would be nice but for me not so importend. regards, Erbsenkopp Last edited by Erbsenkopp : 2008-05-10 at 21:02. |
