I started by using MP without TVserver and it worked quite well, but as an HD channel was added on the cable network, I wanted to have it listed and working on the HTPC as well. Apparently I need TVServer for that, and it is a nice exercise for fun too. Or is it ? So I tried first on the boys' machine (abit IP35, E4600, FireDTV). Installed as a single-seat with mysql as a database. TVserver runs, and MP gets the channels lists, EPG data, but "no video/no audio" is being streamed. I thought it would work better in the HTPC machine in Vista, with newer FloppyDTV and SQL server, and I have the same problem. Without TV server, MP finds all channels and works perfectly on both machines. TV server finds all channels but doesn't seem to stream any video/audio content to the client, either in single or multiseat configuration. I tried many builds, matched MP SVN and TVengine numbers... The VoomHD channel works fine too with both FireDTV and FloppyDTV tuners, using DVBviewer or the FireDTV application, with CoreAVC, LEAD AVC or PowerDVD7 H264 codecs. Que pasa ? I'll be happy to provide logs if it helps. Lorenzo Last edited by lsandini; 2008-04-09 at 20:58. |

Country: | Seems like the timeshifting files are locked. TsWriter couldn't create it.

Country: | Thank your for your quick reaction. Someone else suggested to place the timeshifting files on the C:\ drive instead of a drive with a higher letter or a shared folder. I selected the root of C:\ and believe it or not, preview now works in TV server, and I can see my FTA channels in MP connected in a single-seat configuration. I see my timeshifting files behave normally on the C:\ drive, growing to the predefined size. I tried to place the timshifting files again on F:\ and I got the "no audio/video detected" while trying to timeshift or preview channels manually in TV server, and I could not see any stream in MP. So could this be the beginning of a solution ? Anyway, I could not see encrypted channels (SD or HD), MP says that it could not start timeshifing as the channels are encrypted, although the decrypting card is inserted in the conax module. Country: | Sorry to bring it on again, but the fun lasted while it lasted, and it didn't last long. I didn't post for a while as I was trying various hardware/ software configurations, but I am still stuck ! I could list all the builds I have tried, none seems to work, and my one and only problem is still the same. After installing TV server and the lastest MP + plugin, I can see all FTA channels on my DVB-C FloppyDTV, as well as the first scrambled channel I tune to. After that, all efforts to tune to another scrambled channel end up with the "no video/audio" error, or " could not start timeshifting, the channel is scrambled". Rebooting the computer, restarting TVServer, upgrading builds, won't work. Only a clean new install allows me to watch once one scrambled channel, then nichts, nada, niente, rien, nothing, ei mitään. My logs have shown that the .ts files are locked to 0 bytes, but deleting them or selecting a new folder/hdd/ramdrive for the timeshifting files won't correct the error. Tuning back to a FTA channel allows the timeshifting function to work normally again for FTA channels, whatever the .ts files' location. But not for scrambled channels. So what is wrong with creating new .ts files when tuning to the second scrambled channel ? Something still missing in the TSwriter.ax file ? Any fix for that ? Judging by the numer of reads in the "no video/audio" threads, the problem appears to be quite common, and appears with all kinds of hardware and software configurations... As always, I am respectfully and patiently hoping/waiting for a fix Lorenzo |

So I went out to find a new CAM for my FloppyDTV and FireDTV, and I found a Technisat Conax module at a local supermarket. Swapped CAMs when I got home and BINGO !!! TvServer working with all encrypted and FTA SD and HD channels, in single and multiseat !!! So it was a descrambling problem with the LA Digital CAM module that was the reason for the timeshift files being locked to 0 bytes. I realized there might be some other issues causing the same symptoms, but my problem is solved. HTH Lorenzo | |
