Default Asks for IP adress.

I have installed the TV server, but each time I access my TV I get asked to enter server/IP-adress. When I have entered it, it says connected to TV server, and I have to do it a couple of times to get it to work. How can I fix that?

at first it would be interesting to know if the tv-server is installed on the same PC.
and do you use SQL express or MySQL?
and which version/build of TV-Server and MediaPortal do you use?

Sure. I'm running singleseat, so it's all on the same PC.
I have SQL express and the other maintenance.
I have use the second latest SVN TVserver, because the latest had no tvserver installation. My mediaportal is the newest RC and the SVN from yesterday. Hope this helps

If this problem exists after boot then it could be a known 'bug' that the MP client starts before the TVSERVER is running.

There is a script available in a thread on this forum that delays the client to allow for this .

If the problem exists every time you access MYTV on your client while both TV SERVER and MP is runnigng then we will need a closer look at your logs.

If you are running VISTA there may be a problem with folder write access and changes are not being allowed to the xml file that contains the

<section name="tvservice">
<entry name="hostname">??????</entry>

where ????? is the server name .

Thanks for the answer. I'm currently running XP and will try tonight.
In the meantime can you tell me if the TV server supports DVB-C, because I can't seem to find it?

And a little off topic. Can I run a new version of FFDshow or will it give me to much trouble? Hope it's okay

Hi a little update. I tried last night to uninstall MP and SQL and install again with MySQL and now it works. Thanks for your help.

But the EPG doesn't work right. Is it in MP og TVserver Setup it has to be configured?

And are you able to answer the questions regarding subs and ffd?

FFDShow Tryout, which is the current maintained version, has many improvements\fixes, so yes is worthwhile having.

Okay, it's just because on this homepage they recommend an older version. Can I import my current FFDshow settings to a new version?

I have EPG working without the TVserver, but as soon as I have installed it, I can't get any EPG. Is there something I'm missing?
