Default Assign TV Recordings To Specific Tuners?

Hi,

Can you assign a specific recording to a specific tuner? Last Sunday, I had two digital channels recording programmes & I assumed the third analogue recording would be picked up by the 150MCE card. But one of the recordings was channel-changed to the third schedule & I missed the second half of a programme I love.

I want to have all analogue recordings prioritised to the 150MCE card by design, with any subsequent analogue ones picked up by the vacant digital tuner. Is this possible? If not, then it would be great if MP could be configured for this. Thanks.

Also, is there any way to prevent programmes being channel-changed during recording?

I believe the simple answer is "no".

Tuner cards can be assigned an overall priority - use card 1, then use card 2 if 1 isn't available, etc. But you cannot set this per channel.

You can assign channels to specific cards - e.g. assign all analog channels to your 150MCE, but then they wouldn't cascade down to a digital card if your 150MCE is not available.

The only way to force what you are looking to do would be to have 2 digital cards and 2 analog cards, assigning all digital channels to the two digital cards, and all analog channels to the 2 analog cards. (Even then it would be possible to record only two analog channels, while you can do 3 right now, I presume.)

Sorry....

Oh, and I don't know the answer to your last question about preventing this from happening. Not that I know of, but perhaps someone else will.

I dont think you're right Millhouse.
There is now a Conflicts Manager. There you can give other priorities to cards when conflicts occur. You have to choose 'resolve' to be able to use this great functionality. Just found this out today, I'm gonna test it as soon as I get home from work!
Here is the description of the three options in the conflicts manager:

Analyzer Settings

Fast: Fastest mode (recommended for slowest config). Can report false conflicts.

Normal: Default mode. Only real conflicts are reported.

resolve: Same as normal mode, but also tries to resolve special conflicts wich can be resolved by a different card allocation for conflictings schedules. In this mode, a special field will be set with a recommended card value. This value will be used by the recorder instead of the card priority value.

Cool - thanks for the info and the correction.

Is this a plugin, or is it part of Tv Server? I just don't remember seeing it.

I must admit, I'd have given the same answer up to a day ago....
But here is more info: TV-Server/config-ConflictsManager - MediaPortal Wiki Documentation
