2: try enable EVR

evr= enhanced video rendering

its in the directshow filter (in MP config) not the tv server config
just tick to use it instead of the video render 9

to select ffdshow (in MP config) tv then in the mpeg2 codec selections (you should be able to see ffdshow in the drop down list)

in the same area for post processing do you and did you select cc core parser ? and added a checkmark on it as well ?

I think I had the same problem and after selecting EVR all was good

I had to remove ffdshow then i download and installed the latest version it before it would show up in MP.

Tried all that, still nothing. What version of MP are you using? I'm using 0.2.3, maybe i will download and install 1.0

Ok i've got 1.0 installed and i think i changed all of the settings.

Using ffdshow, evr and enabled core cc. When i go to watch tv i get a black box that opens up and the title says Activemovie window, but i cant enable the subtitles, it's like the option is not available.

Does anyone have this working? I don't believe CCCP is the proper codec filter because I have only seen CCCP work for DVB Satellite files.

What I have had experience with working on ATSC files is adding "Line 21 Decoder2" to a graph with VR9, and using either Cyberlink or Intervideo video codec filter.

Also read on this forum that someone added the CCCP and "Line 21 Decoder 2" filters as postprocessing filters in MP and had it working. CCCP for Satellite and Line 21 decoder 2 for ATSC

Can anyone comfirm?

what you re seeing is something that not quite right, while watching tv you'll see closed captions if theres cc in the stream. (theres no on or off for this, its in the post processing not from menu option like subtiltle)

as for activemovie window ?? my guess is teletext for europe's cc (not for NA) you might have it turned on somewhere in the config. turn it off

this is for Jerryt
you re almost correct , correct that line21 2 for ATSC, normally watching DVD movies and this be the only post processing needed to see cc on dvd movies

then in TV .. line21 will not work so CCCP (don't get confused as the codec, as its the same name Core CC parser.)

no need to have both in line21 and cccp in the tv post processing.

btw.. evr and vr9 both work with cccp
