calling all WinTV-NOVA-S-Plus owners

i have been trying to get this card working with tve3 with no success. tve3 sees the card but it cannot scan any channels. im am located in NA and i am trying to scan 110w dishnetwork.

is anyone having the same problems??? or is it just me?

one thing that i keep getting in the tv.log file is "card: Tuner locked:False signal strength:100 signal quality:0" but i can scan and watch channels with progdvb.

i have been told that it is an issue with tve3. is anyone running tve3 without any problems?

Hello introputz!

at the moment it looks like i got the trick with my NovaSPlus...
I run it under WinXP Pro, MS SQL, .net 1.1 and .net 2, with all updates,
Hardware is Asus A8V Deluxe, AMD64 3200+, 2x 512MB RAM, gforce2GTS Graphics with standard WinXP driver.
Nova S Plus-driver is 88x_2_117_24275_1_whql from 2006-10-23, i downloaded it at http://hauppauge.lightpath.net/de/88...275_1_whql.exe

With TVE3 i run it on DiSeqC Level1AA and Level1BB, 19.2E and 28.2E.

yet i had no crash after todays reinstallation

but never had the Problem you told about.

That's all i can say.

hi Iascoot, you seem to be having the same porblems as me..

i have one question , Moodymammoth the satillite you are scanning "19.2E and 28.2E" is the stream DVB-S2 or DVB-S. could this be a reason why it works for you in europe.. In NA we are still using DVB-S? maybe someone in the Dev team can answer this question. might be a bug with the new nova-s plus DVB-S2 cards?

i had a friend try the nova-s plus under Mythtv and it ran fine.. he was able to scann BEV 82w, 91w.

im trying to get my hands on a SS2 card. waiting on the store to get them in stock hopefully the end of the week.

iascoot, i got the card (ss2) a couple of days ago. and i got it running.. was able to scan and watch channels. so there is definitely some problems with the nova-s card and NA Sat's.

i just installed tvengine3-03-23-2007--20-13h--Rev13533.zip
And its detected my channels on the Nova-S using exact same settings as standard mediaportal tv2

you are right, i just had a chance to test out the nova-s with Rev13497 that was running with the SS2 card and i was able to scan the channels. still scanning as a write this.
