Hi

Sure is a bug in my PC, but I hope somebody can help me

I had two problems with tvservice, one of them is solved

1 - A days before, I wasnīt able to autostart tvservice when I powered on my windows xp, this was fixed changing my antivirus (Why? I donīt know)

2 - I canīt power of or reboot my PC if not before stop tvservice manually, manually because is hang (I can do it, pressing key CTRL + "choose", forcing to reboot)

Anyone with same issue or know a solution?

Cheers

It sounds like permissions were not set correctly on installing TVE3, so it's start\shutdown got broke, you may have fixed the startup, but not the shutdown.

Uninstalling and reboot then reinstalling with AV disabled hopfully will solve this.

ps. what AV are you using, avg free has never given me any install problems.

Check your codecs are fine with Filmerit.
Upload Logs\Pictures etc, use the "Go Advanced" and select the + feature to upload\attach files.

Thanks Paranoid

At the beginning of TVE3, I had installed Zone Alarm Suite, and no problem with both issues
The first issua I detected was than tvservice not start automatically, but I remember can shutdown without problems. 3 or 4 months agos I detected the second issue.

I spent a lot of time for fix the problems and at the moment only solved the start of tvservice changing my AV. Now is NOD32.

I want now, uninstall RC2+TVE3 and begin a clean install with RC3+ TVE3
Any addicional advice for this project? Do I install all necessary with AV disable? and Windows Firewall? better disable too?

Thanks advance

Windows Firewall should not give you any problem.

Personally never disabled AV neither, but i am running Vista in Admin mode, saying that cannot ever remember a problem installing on xp pro neither.

Install RC3 first, and then TVE3 + plugin, thats pretty much it, oh and then configure both.

Greetings to Barcelona

I have this too when DVB-EPG grabbing enabled. If disabled all works fine. Could you check this too?

Hello,
I've NOD32 too. Sometimes TV3 doesn't start at boot, sometimes starts correctly. I was thinking about a random problem in some SVNs.. Could you tell me, just to check, which settings did you modify in NOD32?

No problem for me at shutdown, but sometimes (again) TV3 service doesn't stop correctly, need to kill via task manager (maybe my windows does auto-kill tv3 at shutdown).

I'm running TV3 as admin user (Administrator's group), never disabled antivirus for anything.

Thanks Paranoid and The_Stig, Iīll test your suggestions, but not today because FC Barcelona plays against Glasgow Rangers on TV at 20:45h ha ha. Today no tests, tomorrow will update to RC3.

@Cybertex

Sometimes, with AV NOD32, no start when boot too, specially after a windows xp problem. Settings are install default.
I after a time running tvservice, canīt to stop from services.msc, hungs and always kill from task manager. This seem a similar problem.

A question:

Can the size of tvservice oscillate in Task manager ? is normal?

Cheers everybody

Looking at it now, 3% cpu and moving between 30k to start with and now hovering around 26k.

MP 5-16% cpu 192k memory.
