Can't list Groups, no TV

Hi!

Just installed server and client, all done by the video tuorials and all version are the lates (downloaded today 13 jan 07)

No problem with install.

The server runs just fine, I can timeshif and record in "manual" control.

The client connects to my server (i get connection ok) I get all the new buttons, but when selecting "group" nothing happens...

I have a few groups in the TVserver with channels in the groups. And yes I have restarded...

I have installed the client on two PC's with same result, no groups or tc hannels, so I can't view TV!

Help...

Same here

following the video demo no channel and groups imported into mediaportal.
Database was ok. Channel was found douring scan.
Services are correctly started. Was working fine before installing tvserver.

Also restarting from scratch.

Did you remove your tvcard in mp setup?

yes sure.
I followed step by step the videos. If I try to choose channel, mediaportal gui told me that there aren't any TV cards.

During the installation, after the channel tuning I have also tried the manual timeshift and all was fine.

Same here, I dont have any TV cards on my client computers.

Ihave uninstalled and reinstalled server/client. Card in the server (Windows 2003) is a Twinhan DVB-T and a Happauge PVR150 with latest drivers.

ok, some progress...

I installed "client" on my server, and there I can list cahhels and wtach TV.

But with the same version on my computern (on the same lacal network) I don't get TV groups listed or can watch TV.

How to I "reset" the connection to the server so I can change IP. Is there a config file or?

I have the same problem :'( can't get the remote-client working
there was also another thread where people called for help eho had this problem...if anyone got it running would he please assist us ( I also followed the instructions of the video, because I thought that I had someathing done wron, but the problem remains....again :'(

just got the problem and just solved it

the user who is used to connect to the SQL DB (TVserver-service) has to have default access on on TVDatabase and not on the master tree of DBs

after this mod it works fine for me

...instructions will follow

Start the Microsoft SQL Server Managment Studio Express
-Connect to Your DB
-Select: Security --> Logons/Logins(Anmeldungen)
-Doublecklick the Logon which is used by the TV-Server service (you told the server during the initial configuration)
-the pulldownbox "DefaultDB"(Standartdatenbank) should be "TVLibrary" if it is not change it to this value

after this modification you will have to restart the server and then it should work

excuse the labels I used, didn't manage to change the language of the MSSQLSMSE to English, so I had to improvise

Thanks but...

I changed "sa" sp default database is TVLibrary, restarted server, but same result. I can't se TVgroups on my clients. Only on on the mediaportal that are on the same computer as the server.

I don't see why I need set default database in the database server, I think TVserver knows wich databse to use :-)
