Question Changing tv-group

I installed TV-server and a two clients on other machines. It works. Although it's not 100% stable. For example selection of an encrypted channel led to a system hang one time. Overall i'm happy. Must still setup EPG.
My problem:
I noticed that to change to anaother group i have to go by EPG and then i can reach a menu where one of the options is to change the tv group.

How can i get the group menu item in the main menu of my-tv?

Regards, Eppo

sorry, i do not understand the problem

when you open the miniepg (channel button) you can change the group by pressing "<-" or "->" on your keyboard or remote

in TVGuide you can change the group from the context menu

Thanks Chris,

I am using ATI-REMOTE setup and the channel button does what is to be expected: it changes channels. I am lacking in knowledge about all the possebilities of the user interface and havent come across a discription of it including all (keyboard) keys, eithere generic for the complete interface or specific for a certain window or menu. Could you point me to one?

Right now i have to use the right-click of my MOUSE to get to the menu where i can change the channel-group. That window is not the miniepg, it's a menu.

Regards, Eppo

Thanks,

I had missed the complete appendix! It's not complete however. For example it does not say how to start teletext.

Anyway, it will help a lot with mapping my remote.

Hi everybody,

Well, i've studied it for a while. Bit this documentation is very incomplete. Can anybody tell me how to change channel groups other than going into the EPG and then right clicking on it with a mouse(?) to get at te menu where i can change it?
When you come back to the EPG the OLD channelgroup is still there so you have to go out and come in again to get the right channel group (bug?).
@infinity: left-right cursor when mini-epg is displayed does time-shift, not channel group. I use ATI-REMOTE with the MP X10 driver and covered all the mapped keys from the definition.
Please help me to explain. Where is the library of MP logical keys names (the ones i can assign keys of my remote to) and their function? I cannot find it.

Eppo

  1. enter MyTV
  2. click "Channels" Button -> miniEPG opens
  3. press "->" (cursor on keyboard or remote) to go to the next group
  4. press "<-" (cursor on keyboard or remote) to go to the previous group

If that doesnt work with your remote, then there seems to be something wrong with the mapping .

Works very nicely with my M$ MCE Remote.

There used to be a GROUP button in the main MYTV GUI page, I also miss this now it has gone from the code wih TV Server plgin

As of now the easiest way is to use the mini epg from the fullscreen TV; with the ATI remote press the OK button to bring up the MINI epg then arrow buttons to navigate L-R to change group and U-D to navigate within group.

it was removed because it was obsolete.

Chris and others,

The miniepg has been EMPTY until i isnstalled MP on another client yesterday. It works but i do not know why the miniepg is empty on the other machine (same TVserver, same SVN from yesterday. Now for the first time i can change the channel group. Works fine as long as you get something in the miniepg window....
