hi,
since many svn (don't remember when) tv channel with only mpeg2 audio lag
all channels with ac3 are working well

I also have many problems with MPV/MPA : select ffdshow in tv settings but still render with MPV/PMA (graphedit)

navigation in tvguide is realy too slow (i have only 18 channels, i can't imagine wath it could be if a have a DVB-S card with 400 channels) !

changing channel is not showing waiting animation since many svn

zapping to an encrypted channel is very very slow and back to last clear channel is not working (in france some channel have clear/encrypt time zone)

i love MP but globaly MP is slow (too slow) and still not possible to use like this for many people !

last question : why RC1 show a non support message with windows 2003 server on start ? (sorry but i can't change my server os)

How about posting one bug per post? Posting multiple bugs in one forum post will cause the thread become a mess (same goes for the forum).

Only a quick comment on one of the issues you posted (too lazy to reply on all of those).

Thats currently by design.

FFDShow Tryouts is not a recommended mpeg2 codec, fine to add as postproccessing using raw though.

This already asked today.

Check cpu use, some people have had problems with corrupt db's and other things causing this.

Check your codecs are fine with Filmerit.
Upload Logs\Pictures etc, use the "Go Advanced" and select the + feature to upload\attach files.

moved to support forum bc this is nowhere near a bugreport.

because Microsoft does not release DirectShow and BDA hotfixes which are required to run any HTPC application properly.

if it works for you then you have luck, if not that we can not help.
since we cant fix WIndows bugs

It's a pity : starting watching tv is too long without a visual indicator and if changing a channel is 1sec longer than another i'm still thinking my computer or MP is crash ? not really user friendly

i can anderstand that but not recommanded is not the same as not working

what DB ? i use mysql db with wampserver on my 2003 server... cpu usage seem to be normal on MP client (around 22% when navigate in tvguide)

maybe i'm not anderstanding all but in client/server architecture tvserver3 works well on 2003 server... if i miss something please explain me (MP client is not running on 2003 server)

i'm not a .net developer so i can't help but i'm a php developer and lan administrator so i think MP1 is not able to work fine on a client/server architecture (i think it did not been designed to operate like that - Tell me if I am wrong)

I hope you think about it for the development of MP2 because mediacenter evolution is very fast and demand is high in this direction (multi-room, touchscreen control, fast and user friendly for all, ...)

best regards

  1. your TV-cards are in the Win2003Server PC
  2. TV-Server is on the Win2003Server PC
  3. the TV-Server has to build DirectShow graphs on the Win2003Server PC for timeshifting/recording/streaming TV Channels
  4. the TV-Server has to access the TV-Cards which use BDA drivers on the Win2003Server PC

Microsoft does not release hotfixes for BDA drivers nor directshow for ServerOS'es

i hope that clean now why we do not support win2003server?

erm... so just because it doesnt work for you it is generally broken?
interesting logic......

i have multiseat and singleseat systems running @ home without any issues.
from all the support i do in reallife and in forums i can tell you that the main reasons for problems are
a.) fucked up windows installation (i.e. install every codec you can download from the i-net)
b.) user errors
c.) bad / faulty hardware /drivers

Sorry if this is off topic, I thought the server just captures the stream for DVB-T,
what does this actualy mean? "the TV-Server has to build DirectShow graphs on the Win2003Server PC for timeshifting/recording/streaming TV Channels"

Yep, it's a little bit off topic but as the answer is gojng to be pretty short... Server uses directshow graph to get the stream from BDA drivers (and all data processing is done via directshow filters).

a) all windows (with official licence) correctly install with all updates (codec = WINDVD7 + FFDSHOW)
b) maybe late at night
c) how to be sure 100%
