Country: | I think this is a NA thing - we like channel numbers, and we know our channels by numbers. Even the provider provides channel numbers for us. But from what I've seen channel changes between 1-99 work, but anything > 3 digits don’t work. This should be mapped to channel number in the database, but it seems to be mapped to channel sort. If we mapped channel changes by numbers to channel number in the database, and then allowed more then 2 numbers input, we would have nothing to complain about :> With that being said, I’m using tvengine3 with latest svn for mp. ![]()

![]() Anyway, I've been having a play around with SQL Console. Although I can't find a way to use channel numbers, I think I may have found a work around. I am going to create some 'dummy' channels to fill is the missing gaps. My provider has channel numbers that go up to 999 but there are only 240 at present. So I need to create another 759 but hide them in MyTV. It's not too difficult, I'll just create the info in Excel or Access and then copy and paste in the SQL table. I'll have to create some new dummy channels in the tuning table as well so the id's match. If this works then I can sort my channels into whatever order I want and use the sort order as the channel number. @IcePickrg Quote:
Anyway, I'll post the results latter. @ocram I am very familiar with access databases but I've not used SQL before. How do you sort the info in the tables? Cheers Red

| Portal Member | Just for info... I made the dummy channels and can then move the channel in the sort list against the right channel number. However if I want to use groups, I need to move the dummy channels into each group I make. The problem then is although I can hide the dummy channels from the list in MP, if you use channel up/down MP will still change to them so it takes a long time to scroll through the list It all gets a bit messy. So in short, no real solution. Anyone else interested or want to help with this?
