Default Disabling Timeshifting?

Is there any way to disable timeshifting in TV-Server/MediaPortal? I tried setting the time shifting file size to 0/1 MB but that resulted in me not being able to watch TV at all (black screen when I turn TV mode on.) I then tried setting the minimum/maximum file counts to 0 but that resulted in the same problem.

Impossible. This is by design.
Actually, if I remember correctly, one of the developers did not agree with this design choice and quit the project because of it.

Personally I do not agree with it either, but oh well.

I don't think reducing the timeshifting file size helps because I believe when you watch TV on TV Server you are actually watching the Timeshift recording a fraction of a second after it was recorded. If it is too small I would think the recorded TV will be overwritten before it is viewed.

Over time these files grow to the maximum size and then another one starts, up to the maximum number of files set in the configuration, so you can rewind the TV you just watched (or missed which I guess is the point of rewinding TV).

Like the others said: Timeshifting is by design. But can you explain what your reason is for disabling timeshifting?

Some people timeshift to ramdisc. Perhaps 2/2/64 would be a good config for a 128mb ramdisc.
