TV Card Driver: MPEG2 Video Codec: MPEG2 Audio Codec: Satelite/CableTV Provider: Kabel Deutschland HTPC Case: Cooling: Power Supply: Remote: TV: TV - HTPC Connection: Hello, I've a very hard to reproduce problem with my TVServer installation. The TVServer is installed on a system that is running 24hours a day 7 days a week (so lets say always ). In generally it's working fine, but my FloppyDTV is crashing regularly, when I'm not at home, after a few days. When this happens the FireDTV Support Tool doesn't find the card anymore and even if I try to start timeshifting it doesn't work (no audio/video detected). The only thing that helps then is to shutdown (power off, no reboot) and restart the complete system.I already contacted the support team from Digital Everywhere, but they said, that they can't help, because I'm using Win 2003. But I don't think that the problem is related to that, because in generally it is working fine. I think something bad is happening while the epg grabber is aktive, because this is the only thing that accesses the card, when I'm not at home and due to that not watching tv. When I have a look at the State of the FloppyDTV (TVServer->Manual Control), when the card (or driver?) was "crashed", it says "Grabbing EPG", which is also crazy. I hope someone can help about this or maybe give some hints how to find the source of the problem. At the moment I've disabled the epg grapper to see, if the the problem is really related to this. Best regards, GhoSe |

| Since I disabled the epg grabber, I did not see any more crashes. So the problem seems to be really related to the epg grabber. Is somebody using the FloppyDTV with enabled epg grabber without any problems? |

Country: | Oke this wil be my first post so, here goes... Although its been a while sinds you posted your problem but is seems i got the same symptom, i use a FloppyDTV-T Card (KPN Digitenne) and after about 4 days of system uptime the TV-plugins goes haywire and i keep getting the message "Unable to start Time shifting, No Video/Audio detected" a reboot does not work, i need to remove and replug-in the CAM module (even keep is out at least 3 Secs) and then is starts working again. I see what i can find out in the logs when is happens again. (Happend today already) en see if i have the same messages. i think nexttime i see if reconnecting the FireWire cable solves my problem and will check the logs there after. Regards. Using MP 10.0.0.0 RC1 Single seat, No SVN |

Country: | Have you tried upgrading firmware? Half a year ago I had the same problem only I was watching TV with MCE. No tv-card found after a while. But when I upgraded it worked fine! Now I use MediaPortal (much more stable than MCE) and I can grab EPG from the DVB signal. Thank God for that because WebEPG doesn't work that perfect, unfortunately.... Best regards, Marcel |

Country: | Thanks for the quick reply. The thing is that the card is just 4/5 weeks old, could you tell me what firmware you are using, then i will post the details of my card when i get home and match the with yours. B.t.w are you also using FloppyDVB-T version, and are you able to grap more than 3 days of EPG data ? Regards, Richard |

| I don't really figured out what the problem is yet. Just a few hints: 1. limiting the channels to grab helps (maybe it has problems with channels that are not providing epg info...?). You can get as much as possible from xmltv or TvMovie importer. 2. it is possible, that the problem is not directly related to the epg grabbing at all. Just heard that there might be stability issues with FloppyDTV, when it gets to hot. So if you permanently grabbing epg it is more in use, than when you just grab a few... That maybe explains why it gets better, when I limit the channels to grab. |

Country: | Newimage: Digitenne sends only 2-3 days of information due to the lack of bandwidth in the DVB-T signal. What chipset does your firewire have? Floppydtvs seem to have problems with the VIA based chipset, Texas Instruments and NEC seems to be fine. The firmware I am using: 1.2.7 build 44650 GhoSe: 1. On my system it is not a problem to retrieve all channel information (23 TV, 11 Radio), Digitenne sends only 1 or 2 channels at a time, so it will take a long time for all channels but eventually.... 2. Of course the tuners needs some cooling but in my HTPC casing it is not a problem at all regards Last edited by MdFolter; 2008-05-09 at 17:50. |

Country: | Oke Finally got home to check all the notes, i checked the firmware of the FloppyDTV en it was old, older than even yours, so i began an upgrade immidiately, below are the results before and after. Let see what the stabilty results will be. Status for device before upgrade Model : FloppyDTV T/CI GUID : 0x001287002500118E HW Ver.: 01.25.01 FW Ver.: 1.2.1 Build 33720 Driver : 4.8.0 CAM Module: Conax 4.00e Status for device after upgrade Model : FloppyDTV T/CI GUID : 0x001287002500118E HW Ver.: 01.25.01 FW Ver.: 1.4.0 Build 51440 Driver : 4.8.0 CAM Module: Conax 4.00e The FireWire Chip is detected as follows. OHCI Controller: Manufacturer: Fabrikant van IEEE 1394 OHCI Compliant Host Controller Description: OHCI Compliant IEEE 1394 Host Controller I'am using an ASUS P5K Deluxe mainboard Its a pitty that there is not more than 2-3 days of EPG data available with Digitenne. I'll report back about the stability of the FloppyDTV T/CI when something goes wrong. Thanks for the help so far. Regards, |
