Default HDTV some times

I can sometimes view a HDTV channel, if I turn it on I might get audio only or it might work properly, it might run full speed or it might run at an uneven speed. if I press TV off and back on it may or may not change one way or the other. no logs just yet, but what should I even be looking for, if it was a codec problem wouldn't it alway be the same?

I had the same behavior for a few days... for almost every channel, changed from Avivo/FFDshow to Cyberlink... Then there was no problem at all... The same did appear yesterday with hdtv... when i tried CoreAVC/FFDShow/Ati Avivo, switched to Cyberlink, and everything worked well.. I think there is a codec problem.

I will defiantly have to have a better look into that, I would have thought a codec problem would be more consistent but perhaps not. when I did try just quickly I got HDTV but no volume control, I have seen that this is a codec problem but its still not right, I should get a volume control with any codec. thanks anyway, I will see how I go over the next few days.

You might try to deinstall Haali Media Splitter.
In some cases it works....
