Hey,

Sorry for the late response, I wasn't actively monitoring this thread.

I've started porting my plugin over to the new TV Server, I wanted to finish the multiple set top box support in my MCE replacement plugin before I ported it to the new TV server.

I'll try to have something available for testing by the end of the week, early next week at the latest.

I'd be happy to "merge" the projects if you think that's a good idea. But I should have something testable very soon.

I'll report back here when I do.

Cheers,

We also need a solution for the default driver, so pls keep on working on it.

I consider the alternate driver solution as an.... alternative. Not as a replacement. We don't wanna lose native out of the box support for MCE remotes, so that part will not be replaced. Extended, maybe. But not replaced.

My solution supports the replacement driver and the original driver.

EDIT: When I say my solution, I mean my "MCE Replacement Plugin" and what I'm writing for the TV Server.

Steen,

It should work with most Microsoft-like blasters. I've tested it with the Microsoft blaster (don't know wich version) and with the SMK blaster that comes with the Hauppauge MCE kit.

Basically, if MyBlaster worked for you, ServerBlaster should also.

This is going to sound stupid, and make you laugh, but here goes ...

So I've ported my plugin to a TV Server plugin (just the external channel changing). But I can't figure out how to use it.

How do I set up an external channel in the TV server configuration? Or am I missing the point?

cheers,

Just setup a channel as Analog, and in the analog setup tab choose something different then Tuner as the channel source. Type in the channel number in the Channel textbox.

That should do it.

To joboehl.
Thanks for the explanation. But you know if you have a Hauppauge PVR-150 card, it is somewhat different from the MCE-like blasters. It is using Hauppauge exe. And somehow Mediaportal was able to use it right away, without using any modified files.
So do you know if this is possible with your modificatin as well - that is to use a non-MCE PVR-150?

Ohh, I see. You mean the PVR-150 with the Hauppauge remote/blaster that is connected to the card itself right?

Well, this is a completly differente blaster, so this plug-in will propably not work. A new plug-in will need to be developer/ported for this I'am affraid.

Let me know how you setup your blaster in the current setup so I can find it and see if it's possible/feasible to port it.

When the TVserver has support for STBs, will there be options when defining a channel to set both the STB channel and the Tuner card channel. The STB channel will (somehow) be relayed via an appropriate blaster or control plugin.

For example, my STB can only be connected to my tuner card via a coax cable, and has its output on channel 3. So my Hauppage PVR-150 will have to always be tuned to channel 3 whilst its blaster must send codes to change channels on the STB.

I acheived this in Mediaportal before by manually editing the database, however the DB structure for the TVserver seems a little more complex.

All you have to do is put the ServerBlaster plug-in in the PlugIn directory inside the TVServer directory. Also put your myblaster.dat in the TVServer Directory and rename it to serverblaster.dat.

If you don't have a MyBlaster.dat already, create a new one using Blaster.exe to learn your remote codes.

All the setup of the plug-in (including the equivalent of forceport) needs to be done inside the TVServer Gui. Click on the ServerBlaster plug-in and you can change the basic settings.

If you wan't to force your card to use port2, type in the number of your TVCard (starting at 1) in the Port 2 field. This will forward all the channel changes in the card to the specified port.

Hope this helps someone testing while the MCE Replacement get's it's way to the TVServer.

Julio

BTW: Thx to smirnuff and scoop by the MyBlaster code.
Thank you very much!

I'm happy to report that its working just fine here!
