Default How to setup Hybrid TvCards

Introduction

Today we see more and more hybrid tv cards on the market.
A hybrid Tv Card (or stick) is a card which has 2 or more tuners but
where you can only use 1 tuner at the same time.
An example of a hybrid card is a card which has an Analog tv and DVB-T tuner.
You can use either one, but you cannot use both simultanously.
Sadly under windows a hybrid card is represented as 2 seperate cards.
In the above example this means you will see an analog card and dvb-t card.
When you do nothing the tv-server therefore just sees 2 cards and does not know
that in reality this is a hybrid card where you can only use 1 of the 2 tuners

Hi Frodo - I look forward to test the new tvengine - this will probably help all us which try to use the Hauppauge HVR 3000 (hybrid card with analog, DVB-T & DVB-S) - as far as I can see it can only use one of the tuners at a time - when I install the current tvengine, I have to stop and start the "tuners" under manual controle when I have used the first tuner (which defaults to DVB-T) - and this is probably because the previous channel scan has "locked" the tuner - or what can cause this?

best regards /ti

Hi Frodo,
There have been a number of posts in the Forum which describe problems when using the hybrid support. My own experience was that if I setup my card as hybrid then the dvb-t part did not seem to be used for recordings etc. Removing the card from the "hybrid" group and disabling the analogue "card" fixed things for me. The folowing link gives another example...

Not sure if this is a general problem, but a few people seem to have seen it...

Hope this post is ok just wanted anyone using this to be aware of a potential problem.

I'm having the same problem with a KWorld 210 Hybrid card... with a bit of searching...

The first one is most interesting it gives us that the bug was introduced slightly before build 13239, is there anywhere I can download versions before this? That way I would be able to test and pinpoint which release caused the bug.

Why not make this grouping feature available also in TVE2? That would be great!

Default BGT3540 :: 6 in 1 :: Dual digital satellite, Dual digital terrestrial, Dual analogue

Hi Frodo,
This card does not show (BGT3540 :: 6 in 1 :: Dual digital satellite, Dual digital terrestrial, Dual analogue terrestrial :: PCI express card). Is there any chance of support for this card?. The dvb-s and dvb-t use standard BDA drivers. It is the ideal hybrid card for Ireland where we are currently trialling dvb-t including hdtv and have access to the UK satellite channels
Many thanks
Jim
