Default Re-installed SQL and TV Server. Now: "Failed to open database"

MediaPortal Version: SVN
1. TV Card: Hauppauge WINTV HVR900 (DVB-T)

I got a crash and my SQL Server Express installation went bad. I reinstalled it (remove and the install) which gave me the "Failed to open database" error from TV Server setup.

Now I have uninstalled TV Server Setup and installed it again. I got the question about what DB i'm running and what credentials to use. But still I'm getting the "Failed to open database" error. What can I do?

Solved. Deleted some files in C:\Program Files\Microsoft SQL Server\MSSQL.1\MSSQL\DATA\

For example TvLibrary.mdf

suspect you haven't re-enabled one of the 'allow incoming connections' options in the SQL express config.

if SQL server is uninstalled, the SQL-data files are not removed
when installing it again into the same folder, you can not create a db with the same name as the old one. because the olf files are still there

so its required to delete the old MS-SQL-db files first

I think we posted at the same second in the thread above. My reply re: the files was probably not there when chenk added his post.

Anyway, thanks to both of you.
