Default Set-top box ->WinTV PVR-150 MCE delay/lag ...

Hi,

First I'd just like to point out that this is not a problem related to MediaPortal directly. I've also tried BeyondTV with the same result. Just thought I might get some answers to my questions here.

This is my problem:

I have a cable set-top box which I use to receive DVB broadcasts. I used to have a pinnacle PC TV Rave card in my HTPC which I connected to the set-top box via composite. Everything worked really smooth, but since the Rave card hasn't got any audio inputs, I couldn't record with audio, only video.

Today I went ahead and got my self a Hauppauge WinTV PVR150 MCE card which has everything the Pinnacle had plus audio connectors.

But now I get this strange delay, like there's a 2-3 second delay of the video signal from the set top box and until it is displayed in the TV application I use on my HTPC. When I bring up the EPG on the set top box, it doesn't appear on the HTPC immediately like it did with the Pinnacle PC TV Rave.

I can watch the TV simultaneously on my directly connected TV and the HTPC and I can see that the HTPC is always 2-3 second behind, but both are connected to the same set top box. The PC TV Rave card was always in perfect sync compared to the directly connected TV-set.

What could possibly be causing this delay? I have a decently high-end system, and this was no problem before I started using the Hauppauge card .... any ideas?

My basic specs:

Shuttle STG205
AMD 64 3700+
1GB ram
Sparkle Geforce 7900GT
Hauppauge WinTV PVR150 MCE
