Hello, I just switched from Mediaportal to the "Single seat" TV-Server to help try out the latest SVNs but I am now stuck with big usability problems in everyday use

1) When TV is streaming, the Standby command doesn't work, I need to stop the streaming TV, go to the home screen and then put the PC on standby (remote or mouse makes no difference). Is there a setting setup, I have tried many combinations with PowerSheduler in the Server and in the Client

2) Again for usability, I have set the MP Client to go immediately to MyTV when I switch it on, but now the PowerScheduler is not happy any more. When the computer wakes up for a recording, it doesn't go back to sleep because TV is streaming. Again is there a workaround through the settings

By the way, one of our reference competitors, Topfield, has implemented the powershceduler very smartly, look at section 3.5.3 and 3.5.4 of the PVR5800 manual http://www.toppy.org.uk/documents/58...nual_Rev.4.pdf

Can we reach this functionality through the settings, or can I help e.g. I could try develop some "use cases" for different standby-record-resume situations and help re-structure the power-scheduler concept

For more standby options look at PVR-Schedulers website, as it will do everything ever needed to run MP's standby\resume flawlessly.

There have alway's been some usb TV cards that will not resume properly and PVRS overcomes this and much more.

Would love to see this flexibility in Powerscheduler, but it would have to work as a seperate process, same as PVRS and integrate with Windows power settings.

Regards

Did you find out how to set it up to work in a single seat environment. I was not able to get it to work flawlessly in this setup while not having any problems with MP without tvserver at all?

Did you find a combination of settings which work?

Regards,

grubi.

Actually, I realised that the TV Server still has two basic limitations

1) It is not possible to standby the single seat PC while streaming TV, putting the MP in home is not enough, you must also stop the streamig manually (quite a pity - if I decide to standby the PC where I KNOW the TV service is running, why should the system block me from doing it, it is my decision after all)
2) The TV service does not always start when you resume the PC from Standby, sometimes it starts, sometimes not

For these reasons I have given up the TV Server altogether for now, I am back to Mediaportal but I am regaining my peace of mind and my wife's trust.

With MP, the PVR Scheduler - as advised in this forum, great help! - works really well, no special tweaks needed
