Hello.

After running V0.2.2.0 of mediaportal for a long time and finaly installing an DVB-C card I took the time to install an newer version and also running the TV-Server.

I followed the guide as good as possible and this is how I did it. It is on one box only.

1: Installed MS SQL and the SQL Server Management Studio Express.
2: Configured it following the guide.
3: Installed TVEngine3 Snapshot: 09-13-2007 10-15h Revision 15868
4: Configured it according to the guide.
5: Installed MediaPortal V0.2.3.0 RC2
6: Configured it.
7: Installed MediaPortal SVN-Snapshot: 09-13-2007 01-05h - Revision:15867
8: Configured it.
9: Installed the TVEngine3 client.

When I whent into the config to remove all the tv cards there were none to delete, so I started MediaPortal and entered My TV. But here I didn´t get any question about what Channel Group I wanted to use, it just started the tv right away. When I wanna sort my channels I cant see any channels to sort at all but I dont have anyproblems watching tv with the scanned list.

Were did I do something stupid?

If you need to know something more pls ask and I will answer as good as I can

TVE3 disables TVE2 on install.

I take it when in MP's TV menu, it is showing TV stream as one of the items.

All channel\Group sorting is done in TVServer, not in MP.

I think thats what you wanted to know, if not post back.

Regards

You're able to change group under "Channel" ("Kanal" in swedish) in the TV menu. A list of all channels appears. Press left and right arrow on the keyboard to change group.

Ok I uninstalled it all and just running MP V0.2.3.0 RC2 now and it all works ok. One question though. Do I have to uninstall MP before I install the TVServer? Or can I just install MS SQL Server Express then the newest SVN Build of TVE3 then SVN for MP and last the TVE Client.

Definately not, but if updating with a svn, always update MP + TVServer with plugin.

Good Luck
