Streaming VLC issues & zap time in MP

Hi guys,

I posted some questions about Mptvclient exception raised

The issues I currently have are: Timeshifting streaming to Vlc (tried different versions, portable or not), stops after +- 40 seconds.
In the other MPtvclient posts, it's suggested to use older vlc, does do the trick for me
The timeshifting files grow on the HD so I'm sure it's recording more than 40secs.

Any ideas?


Another issue is the long time it takes to ZAP in Mediaportal.
I have an X10 remote, I click next channel ,or a channel number.
Fro them I can count to 5 seconds untill the image appears of the next channel!
That's too much
I remember the older Mediaportal with built in were much quicker ...
any idea as well ?

can someone else with RC2 & DVBt installation, confirm how long it takes for the to zap to another channel, when watching Tv in Mediaportal ?

I get from .5 to 3 seconds in changing channels (depends but have learnt to accept it). I think it could be related to the codecs you are using and the time it takes to rebuild the graphs. What codecs are you using and post some logs to get more responses.


As for VLC and MPCLient, I think it has been found that 0.8.6 i version has an issue and the TV Stream will drop after 45 seconds. I run 0.8.6 c in my network and all is fine.

not sure which codec the dvb-t is using, it's supposed to be mpeg2.

Not sure when the image is actually shown, but it shows things like:
