TV Card Driver: MPEG2 Video Codec: MPEG2 Audio Codec: Satelite/CableTV Provider: HTPC Case: Silverstone Cooling: Power Supply: Remote: TV: Samsung LCD TV - HTPC Connection: VGA Today I decided to install Vista X86 Ultimate to try out new MP with TV Server. I installed exactly like descirbed in the video tutorials: dotNet Installation 1.1 and 2.0 (installing 2.0 was not possible because it is part of Vista OS already, so I skipped this) Installing SQL Server Express 2005 SP2 for Vista exaclty like in the tutorials Instaling the SQL Server Management Console Configuring SQL Server Express for Network operation Installing latest SVN TV Server (tvengine3-01-21-2007--08-22h--Rev12685) Checking database connection when starting TV Server first time OK confirmation when TV Server ask to start TV Service ..... ..... At this point the problem occurs! All installation steps above worked without any error messages. But after confirming ok to start the TV service nothing happens, not even an error message. The setupTV process is still in task manager but not using any cpu with around 11 mb ram usage. Nothing happens! I tried to start the TV Service with mmc without success. I got a message the the service has terminated again because it should be called by another application. I tried to start the TV Service with administrator privilegs and even tried the XP SP2 compatibility mode. Same problem. Each time I try to start TV Server I got an additional process setupTV in task manager. But the configuration window will not appear. SQL Server is up and running. I reinstalled tvengine3-01-21-2007--08-22h--Rev12685 multiple times, even I tried to call the setp.exe with admin priviliegs. No change ![]() Now I don't know what to try more.... Any ideas or help? Thanks in advance!! Cheers Frank Attached are the log files from tv server |
