Country: | Sorry about headline but this really is worth peoples attention,,, Many of u know from ma rantings in various sections about the 1366x768 resolution issue,ie its the most widespread res for lcd panels used in tvs and my main beef is that none of the boards ideally suited to htpc usage ie micro atx with onboard graphics of sufficient power well get this i let my feelings known to asrock as i had initially selected one of their boards (from past good results) the 775i945gz. i selected this board for several reasons 1 decent modern chipset with lotsa features 2 right size and power 3 good price at £45ukp 4 as i said past good experience of asrock boards as value for money 5 can use the celeron 347d (3ghz, 533 bus keeps power and heat down 512k cache all for £30ukp ANY WAY GUESS WHAT !!! ASROCK WENT AND EDITED THEIR BIOS FOR THIS BOARD TO PRODUCE THE HOLY GRAIL OF RESOLUTIONS 1366X768,,, as far as i know no other graphics card can do this!!certainly no onboard one so listen up people hows that for customer service!! Am goin to test new bios over the next week and will contact them about results and possible redistribution etc and if all works out will let u know ![]() |

Country: | hey, that's excellent. Funny thing is that Asrock is the budget arm of Asus, but you're generally lucky if you can even get Asus to acknowledge reciept of an email, let alone actually do anything. Looks like Asrock value their customers more ;-) |

Country: | I've got one - a Samsung LE32R74BDX, and there are many many others with this resolution. What has confused me is that my GPU (a Radeon 1650Pro) only outputs 1360x768, not 1366x768. I've often wondered what effect this will have: does it stretch the image horizontally by the missing 6 pixels, or do I get a 3 pixel gap down either side of the screen? Given that I can't see the 3 pixel gap, I assume it stretches the image, so a proper 1366x768 output would be worth having. |

Your TV does not support 1366x768 as input on VGA, just 1360x768. That's what I'm talking about. | |

Country: | what's so bad about 1360x768 resolution? my lg lcd can do 1:1 pixelmapping with this resolution so that there are 3 pixel lines unused both on the right and the left side your samsung lcd should behave the same

Country: | The real point of the post was a motherboard manufacturer actually took notice of a (or some) customers requests and actually tried to do something about it Hooray for asrock So wth was the point of that post daniel??,( always one whos gotta rain on the parade??),, nearly 95% of new lcd ( @32,37 and 42")tvs use that res panel and many new larger plasmas do as well fyi anyway having tested the bios it does in fact appear that the extra 3 pixels on each side are not used, wether this applies to all panels let me know have informed asrock of this and of the success with 1360x but the manufac's state panel has res of 1366?? who knows but they. I have built a loverly htpc and the spoiler was the fact i couldnt put a lid on it because the 6600 card i was using got so hot, to have an onboard solution im sure would make many many people agree ps the lcd tv i have will show the full 1366x 768, it makes the quality of the windows desktop text slightly jaggy but the difference in mediaportal is unnoticeable so 1366 wo overheating and a noisy expensive psu it is,, if thats the best available Last edited by mdbarber; 2007-03-28 at 18:48.
