Default Considering TerraTec Cinergy 2400i DT

Hi all..

I'm considering buying TerraTec Cinergy 2400i DT

But i would like to hear from users who have this card - are you satisfied???

I live in denmark, and read somewhere in here that there's problems with the subtitles - any solution to this???

I'm considering this card, becaus i wat DVB-T and dual tuner, som it kinda narrows the field...

Thx...

And thx to the developers of MP - you're doing a terrific job!!!!

*edit* apparently the subtitle problem is due to a special format used by danish broadcasters... However - MCE is able to show them???

I am using this card as my second TV-tuner because it can only deal with the free-to-air channels and that I have stutter on one channel (fine on the other). I have read that the 2400i is quite sensitive to the signal quality. Besides that I am satisfied. Nice to have the ability to watch one coded channel and record on two other (free-to-air channels).

Bought the 2400i - remote included.

Happy with it - works almost flawlessley - only problem so far, is that when recording one channel, the other channels with a weak signal (that otherwise plays flawlessly) stutters when watching live tv...
can record 2 channels (with strong signals) without problem...

Here in Denmark there should be a problem with DVB-t subtitling - haven't used the card long enough to test this...

The Remote.... I'm using it now - so i could get rid of irritating iMon remote (the 2x16 display i got the remote with is now running via LCD smartie and c.all - this works fairly well and enables me to forego that p.o.s soundgraph software that came with the hardware)... Unfortunately the configuration of the terratec remote is not working that well...

Anyone have an idea for a stable, solid, 100% configurable remote???

And - anyone have problems with MP not accepting keyboard input when done through remote??? I've mapped the "Play" button om the remote to simulate keyboard "p" - in MP when i press play on remote it just writes "p" - when i press "p" on keyboard, it does what i want - e.g go from fast-forward in movie to play movie regularly...

I to have one and happy whit it but like the others say you need a good antenna

I had first just one indoor antenna and had some problems after buying a extra one and connected them parallel all my problems ware over and i am real happy whit it

Also good support many driver and software updates

so yeah if you don't need decoded channels go for it

Update - bought an active antenna w. powersupply and now it works like a charm...
FYI - on the terratec 2400i there should (according to terratec support) be a jumper that, when switched to opposite of default position, supplies the 5v to the coax thats reqiured by active antennas... I'm not using it (and haven't tested) because i use a signal splitter, so...

Furthermore i got rid of the terratec remote and bought a firefly RF remote... Works really well using that XML made by Captainspanky...

Hello Hildebrand,

I'm looking forward to buy a Cinergy 2400i DT.
I'll using it with a hauppauge PVR 150 MCE on an Asus A8V-E SE Board with A64 3200.
There are 2 PCIe x1 Slots around the PCIe X16 Slot. On what Board and CPU are you using the Cinergy 2400i?
I've read about problems when using a TV-Card near to the graphic-card.
Is it possible to record 2 different channels at the same time?

Greets Fritz

I'm using the card on an A8V-XE board with a 3500+... Graphic card is a x1600..

I'm having problems, though - suddenly experienced no signal and couldn't tune in to channels.. this resolved by moving card to second PCIe x1 slot - problem reoccured a week later... Now: XP recognizes the card, but i cant tune into stations... Total reinstall doesn't help (and the software supplied by terratec can't tune either)...
Now i've removed the card and will probably RMA it tomorrow monday - doubt that its the MB - computer is stable otherwise... And until these problems started, it worked flawlessly - and could record two channels at the same time - be aware that the card is a bit sensitive Re: signal strength, you may need an active antenna (according to terratec support the card is able to supply 5v through coax to active antenna - jumper between tuners modules on card; haven't tried that)...

Hi Hildebrandt,

thx for your reply. As you wrote, I think that its not the mobo, maybe its the card.
I've seen your mobo at Asus website. It uses the same chipset like mine.
Wish you the best for the RMA. You can post, if you get a new one and how the new card behave.

I think, that I'll try this card within the next weeks. But first I have to fix my (damn!) car.

regards

Fritz

Bought new MB with built-in VGA - problem persisted, so its definetly the terratec card thats broken...

Shop that sold me the card went bankrupt - Contacted Terratec and they RMAed it without any delay... waiting for new card now...

New 2400i came very quickly - Terratec scored some points with me there!!! New card works fine - initial problems where it seemed that tuner No 1 wasn't working properly, and the images from No 2 were off center+compressed...

Reinstalled everything, and now it works like a charm (except subtitles - i'm living in denmark) AFTER i chose the right video codec for TV - the wrong one made MP crash...

MB is Asus A8V-VM SE and im currently running it with the onboard VGA.... Just purchased new tv - Sony KDL-32D3000 - and i'm anxious to see if the onboard VGA is sufficient to run that tv...
