| Since my current TV Tuner card (Theatre 550 pro) randomly decided to shovel piles of noise and distortion into my tv reception, I've decided its time to get a new one and since Freeview is now DVB-T here, it may as well be a DVB-T card. I don't care about other features, I just want good quality DVB-T viewing and HD capability. Hybrid or dual or whatever, I don't care. There isn't much choice here. I would prefer a PCI or PCI-E card to external. Some choices: - AVerMedia AVerTV Hybrid - Hauppauge WinTV HVR3000 - Compro VideoMate DVB-T300 - Hauppauge WinTV NOVA T500 - Asus MyCinema-P7131 - Hauppauge Wintv HVR 1700 PCI-E That's pretty much all that is readily available in New Zealand. Are any of them any good? ![]() |

Country: | I have a Nova T-500 and although it isn't a perfect card, it works fairly well. There can be issues due to the fact it is really two USB tuners on a board connected to a USB hub. This can interfere with other USB drivers on some systems. But the Hauppauge drivers have improved a lot. There is also a problem with them taking time to come out of standby (if you use that feature of MP alogn with Power Scheduler) but puting a delay into the right section of MP sorts this out. Thats about as much advice as I can give. |

Country: | T500 works a lot better with Vista than XP. pity you cannot get someone to send a Blackgold 6in1 to you, about as future proof as you can get.

That blackgold card seems a bit too extravagant I'm only ever going to use it for Freeview. | |
