Maybe it could be if its done together whit a company like terratec / Hauppauge ore a other

This would cut down cost a lot properly because of there costumer-base

A card like this could turn any old ore thin system over to a state of the art HD solution

Yes, very interesting. But no drivers for Windows available. But Linux drivers are under GPL. So maybe one could develop a windows driver.

With the upcoming Ati HD2400XT and the UVD Engine all HD formats will be decoded for a very low price ~90 USD ! But of course you need a PCI-e 16x to plug the card

You'll be glad to know that Sapphire are releasing an AGP version

http://www.sapphiretech.com/us/produ...cts.php?pcat=3

And it is nice that us lowly AGP uses will not have to wait as long for these as we did for the x1600 AGP cards.

Good news for you AGP users, but one advice don't go for the cheap solution test has shown that 2400 is only partly up for the task for full HD and would advice to think of the 2600 option to use whit HD media

like the saying go's you get what you pay for, and i would read up on test if the 2400 the 8500 from nVidia if it will fill your needs
