Default Media Centre Keyboard Suggestions

Title says it all!

I looked at the MS one - but that says it requires XP MCE and an official receiver...

so any similar ones that work with XP?

I nearly got a standard KB and mouse wirelss combo - but having a built in mouse could be a lot better i think

I believe the MS keyboard works with XP non-MCE (well, XP-pro, anyway). Uses the receiver that is bundled with MS remote (e-home) or Hauppauge! MCE-remote (SDK). Not 100% on the Hauppauge.

In general there are few keyboards like this (LOGITECH, COME ON!), but Trust and Speed Link have some modells, as well as BTC.

Good luck!

I only ask as it specifically states that MCE is required, and also Ive googled and read a lot of reports of it not working on XP.

Ill wait and see if anyone can confirm 100% that it works

Use these Instructions to resolve your driver problem. Unfortunately you will still need to buy the Microsoft IR receiver. I am getting both the IR receiver and the keyboard tonight. I will let you know if they work. By the way I got the remote and IR receiver here for $27 with shipping but I live in the US.

I've tested the mce keyboard for quite some time
and the mouse pointer is really a pain in the ass

other solutions like from speedlink with a trackball instead of the mouse pointer
are way much better

Perhaps worth mentioning: I've yet to experience the MCE keyboard to work in BIOS. Not crucial, but annoying, nevertheless.

I have installed the patch, but i can't seem to get the keyboard to work.
Trying to use Hauppauge HVR-1300's IR. Am using XP Pro.
Still have my old wireless keyboard also connected if that's a problem.
Anyone have an solution?
