Country: | Hi! I was getting excited when I read about the "GA-MA78GM-S2H" motherboard. GIGABYTE - Support - Motherboard - Manual - GA-MA78GM-S2H (rev.1.0) Its an AMD 700g chipset. Only problem is that it doesnt simultaniously support dvi + hdmi. I want to be able to connect the HTPC to a projector and a LCD tv at the same time. Sadly this can't be done with the 700g mobos that I researched. What are the alternatives here ? 1) wait for an amd 700gx mobo and hope that it does what I want ? 2) buy the 700g mobo and also buy a pci-e ATI 3200 gfx card --would this work ? I'd rather not have to do (2). /gibman

Country: | According to the manual you could connect HDMI and the D-Sub connectors (that is if the LCD has a D-sub connector or you could get an adapter). |

| Portal Member | Hi Im running a Gigabyte 780g MB - You can only have HDMI and VGA or DVI and VGA. You can not have DVI and HDMI output running together. If I remember correctly you make this selection in BIOS. It may be worth looking to see if the Nvidia 8200 integrated boards can achieve this. If they cant then I think you are stuck with the options you have already listed ![]() bolders |

| Portal Member | Yes this is true u can do this But if you are installing a discrete graphics card then its more than likely that you could output DVI from both outputs of the graphics card and would not need the onboard graphics at all (I know the HIS silent ATI3450 can do this) - the OP wanted to avoid this scenario if possible. Also if I were to install a discrete card into my 780g I would almost certainly disable the onboard video to reduce the heat in the case - the video heatsink on the MB gets bloody hot. bolders |
