| Hi, I am curious which type of remote control MP user are using. I myself am using a universal remote with IgorPlug+Girder, this is extremely flexible as setup lots of different layers and also can control windows (shutdown/change soundcard setting) and control other programs (FFdshow?) However, I am looking forward to get a "Ultra Sconi V2" (external) which in addition allows to control via radio (433Mhz), so I could programatically switch on/off lights etc. And it can send IR commands to other devices like amplifier etc.. What's your solution and what are its pros/cons? Do you concider buying a different one?

Country: | I have an MCE remote, which is great for channel surfing, etc. because of its profile (and because, compared to my STB-DVD-TV configuration, MediaPortal has everything in one interface). I also have a Pronto TSU-7000 (ProntoPro NG) which handles all my individual devices, advanced features, etc. Both are IR, which serves me fine since I don't need to operate without line-of-sight. |
